It's all about shots on goals, failing fast, and then doubling down on the winners. They typically have a pool of in-house talent and resources to quickly build and scale new ventures. 2️⃣ Corporate Innovation Studios: established companies create these studios to develop new products or services outside their core business. They leverage corporate resources -- talent, facilities, horizontal services -- while aiming to maintain the agility of a startup. 3️⃣ Specialist Studios: these studios concentrate on specific industries or technologies, such as fintech, AI, sustainability, or healthcare. It's all about thesis fit and having repeatable, unfair advantages within a particular sector. The GPs typically bring deep domain expertise and targeted networks to their portfolio companies. 4️⃣ Venture Builders: venture builders take a hands-on approach and participate like founders in every company, providing not just funding but also operational support, talent, and strategic guidance throughout the startup's lifecycle. Think of this like PE for startups. 5️⃣ Agency-Led Studios: digital agencies or consulting firms sometimes create studios to transform client projects into standalone startups. Venture studios are pre-seed and seed-stage organisations that form part of the ecosystem, they build, finance, and accelerate startup growth within their own platform. They became incredibly popular for a reason. Compared to traditional businesses, venture studio-founded startups receive initial investment twice as fast and exit 33% faster. Accelerators typically concentrate on distributing smaller amounts of money among numerous entrepreneurs, anticipating that the majority will fail.
