Cattle tuberculosis (TB) has a long incubation period, and clinical signs of infection may not always be visible, especially in the early stages of an infection. A few things owners can do to reduce risk of exposure is to test for TB, confirm that TB is not present prior to purchase of animals, and purchase animals from an accredited TB-free herd. Why is this important to know, the rainy season will cause a lot of puddles of water which become the right breeding places, ground for the development of Aedes Aegyoti mosquitoes, the vector of dengue fever.
