🤠 TotalEnergies accelerates Natural Gas expansion in Texas!
🇺🇸 TotalEnergies is expanding its natural gas production in the United States by acquiring a 20% % interest held by Lewis Energy Group in the Dorado leases operated by EOG Resources (80%) in the Eagle Ford basin, enhancing its position in the U.S. LNG value chain.
🚀 Through this acquisition, TotalEnergies aims to increase its net U.S. natural gas production by 50 million cubic feet per day (Mcf/d) in 2024, potentially rising to an additional 50 Mcf/d by 2028.
💬 Nicolas Terraz, President of Exploration & Production at TotalEnergies, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, stating, "This strengthens our production of natural gas in the United States, contributing to reinforce TotalEnergies' LNG integration with a low cost and low emission upstream gas feed.”
📈 TotalEnergies, already the top U.S. LNG exporter in 2023 at over 10 million tons (Mt), anticipates expanding its export capacity to 15 Mt/y by 2030 through projects like Rio Grande LNG in Texas, supported by our stake in the Cameron LNG plant and long-term contracts.
🌟As the world’s third largest LNG player, TotalEnergies is committed to increasing the share of natural gas in our sales mix to close to 50% by 2030. We are dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and eliminating methane emissions associated with the gas value chain, while also promoting the transition from coal to natural gas in partnership with local communities.
