I had the opportunity to meet Ruth Colvin when I worked in adult literacy and education. She was a visionary, and through Literacy Volunteers of America, taught volunteers how to teach reading skills with respect and dignity to adults who were seeking a second chance to learn to read. What a legacy and inspiration this wonderful lady leaves for her family and those volunteers who have taught and are teaching adult literacy skills using her methods. Thank you to the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy for recognizing the important life-changing work of Ruth Colvin. 🙏
