#BehindtheBrand I promised this and here it is... Part 1. One of the most effective ways to tell your brand story is by providing an inside look at the people, stories, and values that drive your brand... right? Showcasing snippets of the production process, you can create content that captures and retains your audience's attention. Instead of only displaying the polished, finished product on the shelves, brands can give their audience a glimpse behind the scenes to appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into each product. This not only humanizes your brand but also makes your audience feel like they are part of your journey. Sharing the challenges your team faces, the creativity involved in problem-solving, and the passion that fuels your brand adds depth to your story, builds a narrative that audiences can relate to and emotionally invest in. Remember, humans connect to brands through emotions, and by showing the real, unfiltered aspects of your brand’s journey, you create a deeper, more genuine connection with your audience. Let's look at one hypothetical example of "Beans & Brew" Imagine a small, family-owned coffee roastery called "Bean & Brew." To leverage an inside look at their people, stories, and values, they create content that goes beyond just showcasing their coffee products. Content Strategy Example: 5. Behind-the-Scenes Videos: Bean & Brew films the journey of their coffee beans from farm to cup. One video shows a trip to a Kenyan rural coffee farm, highlighting sustainable farming practices and the bean selection process. Another video features the roasting process at their local facility in Kiambu County. 4. Employee Spotlights: They introduce team members through social media posts and blog articles, sharing their backgrounds, passions, and roles in the company. 3. Customer Stories: They share stories from loyal customers, such as a local café owner who uses Bean & Brew coffee, showcasing the product's quality and building a sense of community. 2. Interactive Q&A Sessions: Bean & Brew hosts live Q&A sessions on Instagram, allowing followers to ask questions about the coffee-making process and get brewing tips. 1. Sustainability Efforts: They create content focused on their commitment to sustainability, sharing stories about eco-friendly packaging and reforestation projects, including testimonials from supported farmers. A few months ago, Good Prose Studios took on a new pro bono client - Flame Tree Community Food Co-operative in Thirroul, NSW. 🌈 At the time, the Co-op was facing insolvency and imminent closure. The community rallied to keep the Co-op open, and a new 'scorched earth' budget was endorsed. Good Prose Studios came in to help 're-tell' the Co-op story. We implemented a new communications strategy and accompanying BAU communications plan, which included: 🍏New key objectives (e.g. sustainability, profitability...) 🍏New key messaging (e.g. We are open for business!) 🍏Renewed value proposition: We are a vibrant non-profit, member-owned community hub... 🍏Refreshed brand narrative: "We are a member-owned, not-for-profit co-operative with a focus on sustainable, local and ethical food. When you shop at the co-op, your everyday actions support a sustainable planet..." 🍏A return to regular Member and Director EDMs 🍏SMS and WhatsApp messaging 🍏Refreshed in-store signage We also planned and executed a comprehensive three-month social media strategy, with a focus on Instagram. As we wrap up our crisis comms engagement and help the Co-op move to BAU communications, we're so proud of what we've achieved on our super minimalist $3000 budget. Our crisis comms campaign achieved: ✅ Consistent, regular, on brand content ✅ New, positive messaging reaching and resonating with audiences ✅ Major increases in reach, engagement, and impressions on socials Specifically on Instagram we saw: ⇧ 552% increase in reach ⇧ 135% increase in engagement ⇧ 219% increase in impressions ⇧ 33,600% increase in reels interactions Our top performing 'weekly specials' EDMs saw: ⇧ 1100% increase in French lentils sold YoY 🥣 ⇧ 80% increase in pastured free range eggs sold YoY 🍳 ⇧ 33% increase in organic milk sold YoY 🥛🐄 Most importantly, memberships (which had fallen a devastating 89%) returned to pre-crisis levels - signalling a return to consumer confidence and brand trust. And the best performing piece of content? An identical pair of super cute, budding foodies belonging to our Director Dr Erin O'Dwyer. (See below!) How do you dairy? Maybe it’s capping off the evening with a warm cup of hot chocolate in the company of loved ones. Or perhaps, dairy is a key ingredient in a long-standing family recipe that has been handed down through generations. From October to December, our consumer-facing brand, Unbottled, encouraged consumers to find the meaning behind dairy through the ‘Share a Little Greatness’ campaign. A new 15-second video was released each month of the campaign to show a different concept of sharing greatness. Each video exemplifies how dairy is a part of memorable moments. Looking at the campaign’s performance, we found that these short, snackable videos reached high engagement, viewership and clicks. A key to making these videos a success was focusing on conveying a message with ties to positivity and community within the short time window. An #infographic says a thousands words 🖼 When pitching to Food Manufacturers or Foodservice Distributors, or even talking about our ingredients to consumers at exhibitions, we often get asked 'are your Pea Protein Ingredients considered 'ultra-processed'?' or 'how are your meat replacement products made?', the easiest way to explain this was to draw a picture...que the 'Pea-volution from Farm 🌱 to Fork 🍽' This is why I'm a massive fan of infographics: 🟢Visual Appeal - Infographics use visually engaging elements like colors, icons, and images that capture attention and make the content more attractive. 🟢Simplification - They break down complex information into simple, digestible parts, making it easier for the audience to understand and remember. Do you think so for explaining the process from farm to Fork of the humble Yellow Pea❓ 🟢Clarity and Focus - Infographics highlight the most important points, helping the audience to focus on key information without getting overwhelmed by details. The key point for us was to show that Pea Protein isn't 'ultra-processed' even though the Pea Flour goes through a 'process' to make TVP. 🟢Making complex ideas, simple - Visuals can convey information much faster than text alone. Infographics allow for quick scanning and grasping of the main ideas. A bit like Pea Protein can make meat replacement simple 😃 🟢Easy to remember - People are more likely to remember information presented in a visual format. Infographics combine visuals and text, making them easier to recall from memory. 🟢Engagement - They can make sometimes overly scientific, complicated information more interesting and engaging, encouraging people to spend more time reviewing the content. 🟢Share - ability - Infographics are highly shareable on social media and other platforms, expanding the reach of the information - please share this one far and wide if you think your connections may find it interesting 🙏🏻 🟢Versatility - They can be used in various contexts, from educational materials and reports to marketing campaigns and social media posts, making them a versatile communication tool.
