I have a sister, 2 brothers, 2 step brothers and 2 step sisters. I’m the youngest of all of them. 🎣 What's your favorite way to spend a day off? On my days off I like to go fishing, spend time with family, or get tattoos. 🍂 What is your favorite season and what do you like most about it? Fall, the weather is not too hot or cold. 🚜 What is your current role, and what are your main responsibilities? Heavy Equipment Operator. Operate and Maintain heavy equipment, usually scraper, bulldozer, or off-road dump trucks. 🦌 Are there specific construction projects you've worked on that stand out as favorites? Sargent county drain #7. It was in a lot of government owned Crp’s and it was fun to see so much wildlife while we worked out there. 🎒 Are there any lessons you've learned in your construction journey that you'd like to share? A local major fruit producer was fined $353,000 after a worker suffered crush injuries after this hole collapsed on him. This is not the first time this company has been fined for this exact issue. Please, please train employees and supervisors in the dangers of trenching and excavation. No job is worth your life, proper hazard analysis is key. Workers also need to be trained in their own language i.e. Spanish. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, use third-party trained safety personnel if you don’t employ safety. "Josh used to work on Croell's maintenance crew where he learned a lot about Redi-mix plants, building construction, welding, conveyors, and plumbing.  He then dispatched out of Waverly, managed the Parkersburg and Janesville locations, and now has stepped up to manage our Waverly location. Josh sets a great example by always being willing to help other plants out, whether hauling concrete or doing repairs. He doesn't care where his help is needed, he always jumps right in. Thank you, Josh for all the help!" Most interesting project: Helping to build the new Cheyenne plant or the wind farm project I got to help out on in Dodge City, Kansas. What advice would you give to someone who might want to join Croell: Always ask what can be done and work hard, advancements can come quick. Hobbies include: Tuff Truck racing, hunting, and spending time with my family. One thing people probably don’t know about me: I was born in Kansas, moved to Iowa after a tornado destroyed our family house in 1991. Bucket list: Travel to Australia.
