Listening to an article on the potential AI bubble using an AI-generated voice has been quite an experience. Two weeks ago, I shared the newly announced ElevenLabs Reader App, which enables users to listen to any book, document, or web article. The user experience is quite smooth: Open a web article in Safari > Press the share button > Select the Reader app > Start listening The article I listened to from Sequoia shows the significant gap between the AI infrastructure investments and the revenue generated by the AI ecosystem. Here’s a notable snippet that resonated with me:  “Speculative frenzies are part of technology, and so they are not something to be afraid of. Those who remain level-headed through this moment have the chance to build extremely important companies. But we need to make sure not to believe in the delusion that has now spread from Silicon Valley to the rest of the country, and indeed the world. That delusion says that we’re all going to get rich quick, because AGI is coming tomorrow, and we all need to stockpile the only valuable resource, which is GPUs. In reality, the road ahead is going to be a long one. It will have ups and downs. AI Innovation, Governance, and Risk Management Last week OMB issued a memorandum on Advancing Governance, Innovation, and Risk Management for Agency Use of Artificial Intelligence. https://lnkd.in/eF-BM6si As noted by the White House, Federal Agencies have until December 1, 2024 to implement these safeguards. https://lnkd.in/eUkgHTxB This includes compliance planning, use case inventories, approaches for promoting AI innovation, and managing AI risk. The challenge of AI is knowing when to use AI, selecting the right AI, using it in an effective manner, and implementing complex governance requirements.
