Kilian Jornet and Zach Miller #trailrunning legends 🏃 recently addressed a critical issue facing the sport 🌐👇 In an email 📧 circulated among top athletes, they called for a reevaluation of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (#𝗨𝗧𝗠𝗕) series, particularly under the joint management of the UTMB Group and the #𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽. Their message was clear: while acknowledging UTMB's significant contributions to trail running, they expressed concern about the direction of its #growth 📈 and the 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. In search of a more transparent direction in sport.

I recently shared my views with The PE Hub on emerging sports as an investment class. At APEX, we value a diversified portfolio that includes both established premium sports assets with stable viewerships, and niche sports with lower entry points, developing audiences, and high growth potential. In addition to our venture activities, APEX has been taking minority stakes in sports properties at various stages. Building on my earlier point, our investments have ranged from an investment in the Alpine Formula 1 Team to the Bay Golf Club competing in TGL (by TMRW Sports)—a groundbreaking golf league held inside an arena, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
