August marked a significant milestone for us—we gave out over 103,800 pounds of food in just one month! This is the first time we've surpassed 100,000 pounds in a single month, serving a record 1,822 families—equating to 5,610 people! To put that in perspective, in August 2023, we provided just shy of 75,000 pounds of food to 1,207 families—reaching 3,929 people. The growth we are experiencing is truly humbling. As we transition from our "slower season," with an already 44% growth rate compared to last year, into the busy months from September to December, we anticipate serving even more people in our programs. And we can serve these ever-increasing numbers with the support of our community! CASH FOR KIDS DAY THURSDAY 2nd DAY Cash for Kids is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK from the moment they’re born up to and including the age of 18.  Holiday Hunger  For some children a school meal is the only hot food they’ll eat each day so when the holidays come, it can be a real struggle for parents to put food on the table. Six weeks can seem like a very long time. We’ll be asking listeners to donate or fundraise, to fund grants supporting schemes which combat Holiday Hunger. There are several packages available to allow you to help:  ● Headline – Exclusive branding rights, sole client aligned to “save the date” and “Thank you” on-air, digital and social media activity. ● Be Part of it – Celebrates your support, includes a message highlighting your business, can fundraise via services/sales.  ● Online Donate – Highlights the opportunity for listeners to donate online.

Research out of Yale shows people without children plan to leave significantly more of their estates to charity compared to those with descendants. How might we better engage this growing group? Maybe it’s time for fundraisers to host more events for childless cat people. 😻 “People with no children say they want to leave a greater share of their estates to charity, friends and extended family, according to research by two Yale law professors that surveyed 9,000 U.S. adults. … In the Yale study, people without descendants—children or grandchildren—intended to give 10% of their estates to charity, on average, more than triple the intended amount of those with descendants.” https://lnkd.in/gbcdzjch

We're chuffed to say the Big Knit is coming back in 2025. We'll be donating 30p to Age UK for every bottle we sell that has a little hat on it. Since 2003, we've raised £3.2 million for Age UK who help offer support for older people who need it the most. But before we can pop lots of little hats on our smoothie bottles, we actually need little hats to pop on smoothie bottles. 1.4 million to be exact. We know. No biggie at all. So, if you're a knitter, crocheter, or someone with no creative talents at all, we're calling you to knit some little hats and send them to us in Fruit Towers.
