Celebrating Collaboration! 🚀 🌍 Representing Atlas Ventures, Natalia Rivas joined ZINC, Sustainable Womens Network, and Alma Angels office hours for Women building Climate Startups. With a bustling event attended by 30 startups and over 30 investors, it was a dynamic platform for networking and support. Along with startup and investor matchmaking, the event also featured insightful investor panel discussions and breakout sessions on fostering more opportunities for female founders in the ecosystem. Action items emerged: 1) Bring a male colleague to future events to enrich discussions. 2) Evaluate your LinkedIn network to identify any gaps in coverage when obtaining deal flow from your network, where do you typically overindex, and ensure broader representation across all networks. A big shoutout to all the inspiring founders and investors who participated! As Atlas has many sustainability themes in our scope (energy, efficiency, carbon capture, etc), we got some great potential dealflow at the event. #ClimateStartups #WomenInTech #Networking #Investing

Founder of Unstoppable Climate Accelerator | Co-founder Investors for Climate | Climate Angel Investor (11 investments including 1 IPO)
Starting a company is not hard - what’s hard is keeping it going. I spoke to a female climate tech founder last week. She already raised $1.3M out of $1.8M. She told me the toughest part of being a founder is not fundraising, sales or product. No. The toughest part of being a founder is getting "NO"s - 95% of the time (when you are raising capital.) The toughest part is the emotional resilience required. It’s to continue no matter how you may feel. Here are 4 ways to build emotional resilience as a founder. __ ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Helena Wasserman for more. ✍️Sign up to my weekly newsletter to crush it with your climate startup! The number one thing investors are looking for in an early startup? The founder that believes in themselves. From the outside, Future House in Clapton looks like a fight club, not an event space. Inside, the pink neon “Just f***ing build something” adds to the vibe. I went there last week to the FutureLondon.org event to listen to founder and investor stories. I had been doing a little research recently on what’s the number one element of a pitch story. Every time I talk to an investor, I get the same response - team/founder/people. Neer Nagda added another layer to this answer in his insightful talk. "The most important thing that investors are looking for is a founder that believes in themselves," he said. Makes sense. A founder that believes in themselves will keep going in the hardest times, sacrifice a lot, and not give up. Now, that’s nothing to do with a pitch story, and everything to do with the stories we tell ourselves. And the people that surround us and believe in us when we have doubts. Everyone needs that kind of support, but from what I see, climate founders need it even more. They’re not only fighting the fight of getting the business off the ground, finding money, and becoming profitable. They often feel like the solutions to the climate crisis they offer are too late or too small to make a difference. To all climate fighters out there, keep fighting! What you do matters, a lot. I hope you surround yourself with people that believe in you. PS: If you know someone that has a bit of a wobble, give them a confidence boost. They’ll never forget it. PPS: If you need help crafting your pitch story, I’m here to help. +1 to confidence. #storytelling #climatefounders #fundraising

The fundraising dip for climate-tech in 2023 first half is likely temporary, given the reality of climate change and the cultural and economic momentum behind solving it. At Indiginus we expect more of our fundraise-marketing business to come from climate-related funds in the future. COMING SOON: an Indiginus fundraise marketing effort for a fund that leverages incentives from the 'Inflation Reduction Act' - really a piece of climate-change legislation - to drive both energy efficiency and investor returns. #Climatetech #climatefinance #inflationreductionact #fundraisemarketing Galvanize Climate Solutions https://lnkd.in/gB-_MZnZ
