PROJECT SPOTLIGHT // Giving a for-hire product a long and robust life. The Shore Brace 400 is an Australian Made and engineered hydraulic bracing system designed and developed by client Shore Hire, who first engaged Galserv in late 2018 to discuss an R&D process. The Shore Brace 400 is used across earthworks, construction and development projects in Australia on a for-hire basis with heavy-duty and intricate steel sections requiring hot-dip galvanising. Due to the environmental conditions in excavation projects and the high repeat use of these items, galvanising was the preferred choice of surface coating for Shore Hire upon consultation with Galserv due to its longevity as a product. The Galserv team designed and developed a highly effective process to bring this to life for Shore Hire, enabling an Australian Made solution with lasting durability, reducing the carbon footprint associated with the product compared to single-use bespoke steel walers. The project consisted of 250 tonnes of individual components and won The Galvanizers Association of Australia 2023 Sorel Award for Innovation Use of Hot Dip Galvanizing.
