The seminar "Dialogue with Justices——Arbitration Law Reforms in China and the UK: Major Changes and the Way Ahead" took place at the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center on September 24, 2024. Esteemed speakers included Sir William Blair, Former Judge in Charge of London’s Commercial Court, Committee Member of the BAC/BIAC; Zhang Yongjian, Former Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court; Ning Fei, Managing Partner of Hui Zhong Law Firm and Zhao Yang, Representative of Dechert LLP Beijing Representative Office. The roundtable discussion explored key issues such as arb-med, early dismissal, interim measures, and the responsibilities and immunities of arbitrators. Christopher Campbell-Holt, Registrar and Chief Executive of the Astana International Financial Centre Court and International Arbitration Centre, concluded the session with valuable insights. #arbitrationreform #arbitrationlawrevision #disputeresolution

On September 18, 2024, the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC/BIAC) and the ASA - Swiss Arbitration Association successfully co-hosted the seminar Pursuing Excellence: Arbitration Reforms and Legal Practices in China and Switzerland in Beijing. We were honored to have Jürg Burri, the Swiss Ambassador to China, deliver an insightful welcome address for this event. During the event, BAC/BIAC and the Swiss Arbitration Centre (former SCAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen future cooperation in the field of arbitration. Special thanks to our distinguished speakers: Arthur Dong, Fuyong Chen, Clarisse von Wunschheim, Xixi Yang, Felix Dasser, Julie Raneda, Xin Liu, Yaqi Liu, and Tom Christopher Pröstler.
