In the heart of an 11-day NCC camp at a college, every morning felt like a fresh start, and late nights turned into shared stories. We expressed our morale through drills, realised our mistakes, and, most importantly, learned from them. It wasn't just about getting the routines right; it was about all of us becoming better versions of ourselves. The camp wasn't just a pit stop; it was a journey we took together. In those days, we formed bonds, faced challenges, and embraced the fact that none of us were perfect. Our ANO was one of the most supportive and motivating people.
Here are 5 key insights from my experience with NCC:
1. Teamwork Matters: I learned that working together is powerful. Facing challenges as a team made us stronger.
2. Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional: Waking up early, running, working out, lifting weights and staying committed taught me to be disciplined and mentally strong.
3. Mistakes Are OK: Instead of stressing about mistakes, I learned to see them as lessons. ( I was very bad at drill in the start but I kept on improving)
4. Synergizing: We (troop) didn't just hang out; we grew as a team.
5. Critical Thinking: The camp taught me to handle surprises. Being adaptable in tough situations became an important skill.(Imagine protecting guns at night!!)
Overall, the moments I spent with my co-cadets are unforgettable!
