US Army Chief of Infantry Major General Charles S. Farnsworth The Infantry Journal published Patton and Eisenhower’s “A Tank Discussion” in 1920. The essay posited that future tanks would not be the sluggish, mechanically unreliable machines of the Great War but precision vehicles with balanced firepower, armor, speed, and maneuverability. They encouraged infantry commanders to look at tanks as more than just a means for escorting soldiers across the battlefield and open their minds to the independent potential of tanks. Their discussion about the tank being more than an infantry-support arm became heresy. US Army Chief of Infantry Major General Charles S. Farnsworth threatened them both with court martial if they continued promoting this idea. Major Bradford G. Chynoweth published an article in the Cavalry Journal in 1921 predicting that the tanks of the future would replace mounted cavalry. General Farnsworth reprimanded Chynoweth for suggesting that tanks would play such an independent role in future wars. #militaryhistory

"Glad to be here." If you've seen the newly released Blue Angels documentary, you may have picked up on this utterance in between the phenomenal aerial sequences. At any time there are seven US Navy (and United States Marine Corps) aviators that make up the Flight Demonstration Squadron, out of more than 7,000 current naval aircrew. Fewer than 300 pilots have ever served in The Blues, far less than the number of aviators that have graduated TOPGUN. The Blue Angels are special, but the 158 active duty sailors and marines that constitute the team don't view themselves as that. They are a part of something greater, and extraordinarily grateful to be a part of that special team each and every day. The Blue Angels’ greeting, motto, mindset, and ethos is fundamentally "Glad to be here." The phrase is deeply embedded in their high-performance culture, and the attached document by former Blue Angels lead solo pilot John Foley illustrates the power of those four words, for The Blues, and others who seek perfection as a team. From Destruction to Innovation: How WWII Brewed Tea Time in British Tanks The Battle of Normandy in 1944 saw the loss of 14 British Tiger tanks in just 15 minutes by the Germans, highlighting a critical flaw: the need for a reliable way to prepare tea. British tank crews, deeply rooted in their tea-drinking tradition, faced operational delays and increased vulnerability as they brewed tea outside their tanks. Some reports even suggest that 37℅ of all armored regiment casualties in the last phase of World War II were crew members outside their vehicles. This led to the invention of the "Boiling Vessel" (BV), a compact tea boiler installed inside tanks. The BV allowed crews to make tea safely and efficiently without exposing themselves to enemy fire. This simple yet ingenious innovation boosted morale, reduced casualties, and ultimately contributed to operational effectiveness. The legacy of the BV endures, as it remains a standard feature in modern British armored vehicles, a testament to how a wartime necessity transformed a cultural ritual into a military asset.

Represents the 7 seas. ✅ What is the length of the belt for cammie trousers? 2-4in beyond the buckle✅ Why do USMC covers have eight points? Marines are great at tactically acquiring gear & traditions from the Army while bragging of distinction. We took it from the Army back in WWII. The 8 has no known significance. ✅ Why can’t Marines wear cammies in public? Professionalism… Pride… Propaganda…🤔 It’s the one uniform question that is frequently asked and I can’t answer with core confidence. Aren’t the Army & Air Force professional organizations? Thoughts 💭?
