Morrisons is launching menopause-friendly sections in selected stores to bring visibility to products that support the signs of the menopause and make it easier for women in the UK to navigate this life stage. Rolling out in partnership with menopause GenM – a collective of retailers and brands that use the MTick symbol to signpost menopause-friendly products and services – the supermarket’s menopause-friendly aisle ends and in-aisle fixtures will be located across 45 stores nationally. It comes as GenM’s independent research found that while 80% of women want to shop for menopause-friendly labelled products, 66% find it difficult to find the items they need. Morrisons’ in-store activation will also be supported by educational point-of-sale materials to help customers understand common signs of menopause and the products that can support them. #supermarket #morrisons #menopause #womenshealth #healthandwellbeing

A week on from the Panorama documentary and the overall sentiment we are hearing from our Community is ‘we want more for our menopause!’ There is a desire for accurate, individualised assessments and personalised treatment plans through menopause. Those with surgical menopause, on gender affirming hormone therapy and those living with a disability noticed that their menopause did not get a mention on Panorama. We hear so often how their experiences are disregarded, not validated, and not cared for. There is growing frustration at the ‘suck it and see’ approach towards HRT which surely needs to be replaced with greater science, individual consideration, and precision, so symptoms are alleviated quicker. We are also hearing a demand for greater research and accessibility for testosterone - described as a game changer for so many. A forgotten hormone that does more than boost libido. People are questioning why HRT is so homogenised - why more doctors don’t test for different skin absorption of oestrogen, take into account hormone intolerances and levels or body mass. People that can’t take HRT are asking why more isn’t being done to support them in an age of longevity. For those on high dosages of oestrogen, or those uncertain already around risks who watched the programme came panic and fear. The overall result from last week’s is a feeling of being let down. The documentary tried to make people feel disempowered. But one thing is sure. We need better diagnosis, consistency over regulations, more innovation, more scientific research, a greater appreciation on the diversity of menopause, and leadership and alignment from the HCPs and bodies that bind them. What’s your vision in the future for menopause? #menopause #wmd24 #womenshealthmatters

World Menopause Day Menopause awareness has grown in recent years due to the relentless work of Davina McColl, Dr Louise News Newson Health and other menopause advocates. Now is the time to push awareness to the next level and raise awareness of chemical and surgical menopause and the reasons why it can occur. We are pleased to support the Menstrual Health Project charity and the #MenopauseImpactsAll campaign. The issue with invisible disabilities, like endometriosis and adenomyosis, and the symptoms of menopause is that you cannot see them. Therefore, empathy and understanding are often not there. Get involved with the campaign because menopause not only impacts the individual, but those around them too; family members, colleagues and friends. It's a collective responsibility to understand and support those going through menopause. 🎙️ The Sunflower Conversations podcast 🌻 🎙️ PMDD and Chemical Menopause with Amani Omejer 🎙️ Perimenopause and Menopause with Dr Lousie Newson 🎙️ Perimenopause and Menopause with Fay Durrant 🎧 Listen, share and subscribe here: https://bit.ly/373paXZ ALT: 1. Days like today are every Product Manager’s favourite; NPD Launch Day. When a project that you and your colleagues have worked tirelessly on goes *LIVE* you can’t help but get that warm, fuzzy feeling – “We did it!” Today, we’re proud to launch 5x SKUs under the Boots Menopause & Me™ sub-brand, extending the portfolio beyond the 5x Supplement SKUs launched in October 2023. Boots Menopause & Me™ is a sub-brand with a vision; to empower women, and those who experience menopause, to take control of their menopause journey. Almost 1 billion people worldwide are experiencing the menopause… that’s over 12% of the world’s population. Despite making up such a significant proportion of us, 90% of those experiencing menopause or perimenopause believe brands should be working harder to be more inclusive and cater for their most problematic symptoms, and 87% feel overlooked by society and brands. Out of the 48 signs and symptoms of menopause the No. 1 most commonly experienced symptom is Hot Flushes, with Vaginal Dryness taking the No. 2 position. With our vision in mind, we knew we absolutely had to find solutions for the discomfort brought on by these symptoms. In this range you’ll find at home, on-the-go and hands-free formats to bring comfort during hot moments, as well as 2x hormone-fee, super convenient solutions for when ‘down there’ feels dry, itchy and uncomfortable. Collaboration has been at the heart of this project; both internally and externally. We’ve also undertaken countless rounds of research and user testing, and worked closely with our very own internal Menopause Network, to ensure we’re creating exactly the right products using the expertise of the people who really know best. Thank you to all the incredible Boots colleagues and the wonderful external partners involved in putting this range together. In stores and online NOW! #npd #menopause #Bootsbrand #menopauseandme https://lnkd.in/ePwhvUED

Today, on International Menopause Awareness Day, I’m reflecting on the full life cycle of periods—from the first signs of menarche to the changes that come with menopause. As the founder of Bfree Cup, I’ve had the privilege of being part of this intimate and powerful journey for many. Periods are more than just a monthly event; they shape our health, well-being, and the way we live. From navigating the early days of menstruation to the fluctuations of the reproductive years, and finally through the transition into menopause, each phase demands unique support and understanding. We often focus on the menstrual cycle, but menopause is just as pivotal—a culmination of years spent in rhythm with our bodies. At Bfree Cup, we understand that well-being means supporting every stage of this journey. Menopause, like menarche, is a significant rite of passage. It’s a moment to honour the strength required to navigate all stages of reproductive health and acknowledge the unique challenges at every turn. Today is about celebrating that strength. It’s about recognizing the ongoing need for better education, resources, and products that support people throughout their menstrual life cycle. From the first period to the last, each stage deserves thoughtful care and attention. Here’s to honouring every chapter, and to continuing our work in providing solutions that empower individuals through every transition.

@arlingtonmagazine "What We’re Learning About Menopause - Women are fired up and tired of suffering. A new medical specialty is emerging." A a great article filled with lots of useful information about #menopausesymptoms, #personalmenopausestories, #HRT, #MRT from medical experts including National Menopause Foundation Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) member, Jennifer Lanoff, an MSCP and WHNP-BC, MSN, RN, JD at Reiter, Hill & Johnson ; NMF project partner, Kamili Wilson of Menopause Made Modern, The Menopause Society, and more! Even if you don’t go through #menopause yourself, you’re probably living or working with someone who will. So why is it that we remain so ill-informed about the full spectrum of #symptoms and #treatmentoptions? “It wasn’t until 1993 that it was mandated that women be included in clinical trials. They used to just do research on men and then apply it to women. If this happened to men more than women, the crisis would be over,” said National Menopause Foundation Founder and President, Claire Gill. https://lnkd.in/eYZUnqxj #menopausesymptoms, #perimenopause #womensmidlifehealth #hotflashes #moodswings #womenshealthinitiative

I'm struck by just how much of my social media feeds are now taken up by menopause posts and adverts. It is great that we can be more open about discussing this and taking action because we need to be doing more about menopause, recognising that it is a natural part of life etc. However, it does make me think. Now I get it. I'm 52 next birthday and there is every likelihood that menopause is just around the corner if I'm not already perimenopausal. However, I do worry that the change in the volume of posts I'm seeing is related to an algorithm that is assuming that as I'm a 'woman of a certain age' this is what I'm going to be interested in. Just as I'm concerned that every ache and pain; change in menstrual cycle; change of mood or behaviour; and a multitude of other things for a woman over the age of 40 may be starting to be attributed to menopause. Menopause may be becoming the new period. Another stick for misogynists to beat us with and try to make out that we're not capable or fit for any kind of responsibility. So, remember that women over 40 still may have other causes of all of the above and more. It is possible that our symptoms and conditions may be caused by the same stuff that it may cause it in people 20 years younger than us. And, we may just be moody because we're tired of dealing with this stuff for 40+ years and don't want to have to consider your feelings any more.
