Time to get our city mouse on—for our next stop on the #BILLroadtrip, we're heading into San Francisco proper to visit the innovative and stylish children's clothing company (and BILL customer), Tea Collection. Born out of the dream to inspire connection and curiosity for children everywhere, Tea Collection travels far and wide to bring designs and colors from around the world into every piece of clothing they sell. And along the way, give back—by partnering with the Global Fund for Children to donate 10% of their profits to help advance the dignity of children around the world. Diverse, fashionable, AND philanthropic? No wonder they call SF home.

Break an Egg! prompt: Share work I admire Link: https://lnkd.in/dhPtmaNb United Way of the Greater Capital Region is doing a special fundraiser, asking people to donate as a way to wish their President and CEO Peter Gannon a happy birthday. Giving has changed in the last two decades and the more micro-donations an organization can get, the more success they'll have. This is a great example of using a special day to your benefit. What special days exist in your organization? Is there something in the next couple of months that you can use as a hook for collecting micro-donations and raise your brand's image?

Empowering professional women entrepreneurs who, despite their outward success, feel stuck, overwhelmed, and isolated to unlock their potential and overcome isolation and self-doubt, leading to a lifetime of happiness.
How can you help change the world?
📊 Did you know? Research from the Women’s Philanthropy Institute at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy reveals that women are not just generous, they’re game-changers. Women are more likely to donate to charity and tend to give larger donations than men. 💰 Wealthy women, in particular, use their wealth more altruistically, driving significant change in their communities and beyond. Yet, how these philanthropic powerhouses spend their wealth often sparks debate. It’s time to recognize and celebrate the incredible impact of women who are making a difference, one donation at a time. #TaylorSwift #ErasTour

And I couldn’t be more excited about helping this organization and all the great work they do in the community. Complete details next week, and this is only the first of many ways we’ll be giving back to local communities. Because that’s the “why” behind everything we do at Pacific First Wealth Management.

Bikes for Kids Wisconsin • Dane County Parks Commissioner • Sault Tribe Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) • Former Alder City of Monona
Something happened this year at Bikes for Kids WI, the floodgates opened and we saw a steady stream of people in need of low-cost transportation who were unable to afford bikes on their own, more than ever before. The 2,500 bikes we've given away in 2024 have been distributed to all people in need, not just kids. Giving bikes to kids under the age of 11 is a critical part of our work because, if you don't have a bike as a kid, you won't have one as an adult. Beyond age 11, kids are often too embarrassed to learn to ride and they become focused on cars as transportation although they've yet to learn how expensive it is to own a car as those costs go far beyond the initial price of the vehicle. And yes, kids do use their bikes for economic mobility. Kids are often eager to work but when you're too young to drive, a bike provides access to those opportunities. They also help kids get to school and they reduce truancy for many of the kids we serve. Bikes provide access to opportunities. They are so much more than just a recreational option for the people we serve--they are a lifeline. Operation Fresh Start became a new distribution partner for us this year and that's how we connected to Calio and King, the two boys who helped us reach the new milestone of 2,500 bikes given away in 2024. I'll drop a photo of the boys and their bikes in the comments. You will love seeing those smiles! 😊 #transportation #economicmobility #independence #freedom #opportunities #healthyfamilies #healthykids
We just reached a new milestone in 2024—we have now distributed 2,500 bicycles this year alone. That puts our total since 2017 to 12,500 bicycles distributed to financially challenged people in the state of Wisconsin. 💥 If you would like to support our work, you can make a financial donation at bikesforkidswi.org or you can volunteer with us here at the bike center. Thank you to all our donors, community partners, and volunteers who’ve helped make this work possible. Charitable Giving: It’s not one size fits all Being a philanthropist is not based upon a dollar value contributed. It is a blend of how you give whatever matters to you. This can be your time, talent, treasure, ties, or how you share your testimony about the causes you care about. Giving traditions may be a big part of philanthropy as well. However, how these values translate into action and impact varies widely from person to person. And that’s a good thing! Read More of Laura’s Blog at https://bit.ly/3MjQBRH
