🚀 We are thrilled to announce that Readily Diagnostics has been awarded funding from the Bio-X Accelerate Program! This support will enable us to further develop and introduce our next-generation rapid diagnostic tests for respiratory diseases, significantly improving patient care with faster and more accurate diagnostics. 🌟 Our innovative padlock probe technology is set to revolutionize healthcare by providing timely and precise results directly at the point of care. BIO-X Accelerate is a program with the goal of accelerating the development of innovation in the health and/or life science industry. The program uses an industrial approach to support life science-related projects that could fulfill well-defined needs and create IMPACT in healthcare, industry and society. Selected companies receive funding for their projects as well as continued support and access to experts within the BIO-X network.     BIO-X Accelerate with the theme IMPACT is a project by STUNS with strategic partners UIC, Connect Uppsala, Create Business Incubator, Lead (Business Incubator), Inkubera and supporting partners Linköping University Innovation, Uppsala University and Örebro University Holding.     The project is financed by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth via STUNS.     STUNS is the foundation for collaboration between the universities in Uppsala, business and society. 🏆 Congratulations to the three teams winning the 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, successfully bidding for funds to advance their translational research proposals. The winning teams, EpiSync, ApySense, and RecoverEase (in no particular order), were awarded for developing sufficiently novel research proposals that address real-life healthcare translational challenges. Participants from each team demonstrated a combination of unique knowledge, skills, experiences, and interdisciplinary teamwork. The ACCELERATE Innovation Team Challenge is initiated by the UCL Therapeutic Innovation Networks (TINs), aiming to encourage interdisciplinary collaborations and help UCL biomedical research communities upskill in translational research. Our team at the EU Nova Project is pioneering advanced biological models to anticipate potential side effects in next-gen antimicrobial coatings. 🚀 Here’s what we’re doing: 🔬 Developing in vitro assays to assess biocompatibility and immunocompatibility for materials like hernia meshes. 🧬 Using state-of-the-art visualization techniques like FIB/SEM to study biological responses. Why is this important? By anticipating and mitigating possible side effects early in the design process, we’re ensuring safer, more effective antimicrobial solutions.
