🎉 We are thrilled to share that some of our team members had the privilege of attending the Washington DC Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Grand Finale, where the 2024 Visionary of the Year was announced! 🎉 The LLS Visionaries of the Year campaign is a remarkable 10-week philanthropic competition that brings together leaders from local communities across the United States. Throughout this period, candidates and their dedicated team members work tirelessly to raise funds in honor of local blood cancer survivors, our Honored Heroes. The prestigious title of "Visionary of the Year" is awarded to the candidate whose team raises the most funds during the competition. This incredible effort supports those battling blood cancer but also helps fund vital research and patient services. We want to thank Accenture Federal Services for allowing us to witness this inspiring gala in person. It was an unforgettable evening celebrating the dedication and hard work of all the candidates and their teams. Life Sciences - where cancer research is critical and life saving Big Data & AI - which is used in cancer research to help find solutions Did you know that 40% of us will be diagnosed with cancer? Experts predict that in less than 10 years, cancer will surpass heart disease as the #1 cause of death in the U.S. You can be 10 x more likely to survive cancer when it’s caught at Stage 1 vs. Stage 4. These are sobering facts for sure. It just seems that my professional career has come full circle to lead me running the Boston Marathon for DetecTogether which as a non-profit does terrific work in early cancer detection education. Many here have supported my efforts so far in raising funds to get me to the start line on April 15, and represent this wonderful organization's cause. We are 84% so far towards a $10K goal - running Boston as a slower runner is not cheap, but knowing I'm running for this charity makes it worth the hard work. We are almost there and I'm incredibly grateful for those here who have donated.
