Our clients have an eye for beautiful design! The Wall Street Journal’s latest exhibition review takes us to Florida for Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College of Art and Design's “Modern Masterpiece Uncovered: Galloway’s Furniture Showroom by Victor Lundy.” In what Michael Lewis calls a “provocative” exhibition with “a spirit of collegial brainstorming,” Sarasota Art Museum showcases a surviving icon of the Sarasota School of Architecture with archival images, renderings, 3D and proposed concepts from Hampton University students for repurposing the former furniture, which just so happens to be visible from the exhibition gallery window. #BlueWaterClientNews

One of the dominant aesthetics of gothic architecture is the use of vastly varying radii with tracery setting out and moulding details in general. The true elegance of this can only be achieved by means of the common normal. That is where two or more curves with differing radii can flow seamlessly in an organic fashion without any sharp changes in direction. Provided that they are set out in a way that all the centres share a common normal. In simple terms, both centers lie on the same line. This principle is key to the Gothic aesthetic as it demonstrates a clear creative separation from the strict regimentation of classical setting out. It provided the opportunity to create cellular-morphic forms while adhering to geometric principles.

Incorporating a water feature with a central structure on a rotary can create a captivating focal point in any landscape. Such features often combine the soothing presence of water with the architectural beauty of the central structure, which can range from classical sculptures to modern art installations. They are not only aesthetically pleasing but also serve as a gathering place, promoting a sense of community. When designing a water feature for a rotary, it's essential to consider the scale of the structure, the flow and sound of the water, and the overall harmony with the surrounding environment. With careful planning and design, a water feature with a structure in the center can become a landmark and a source of pride for the community. #waterfeature #fountains #adinnovations #urbandevelopment

In a world of mass production, I take great delight in things made by hand and perfected by the artisan through skill and experience. That brought me to wonder about Art Deco and how it was used in Architectural design. I think the point was to create exclusivity by using talented craftsmen who could create unique pieces. To a great extent, Art Deco is epitomized by the works that were shown at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International Exhibition of Modern and Industrial Decorative Arts), held in Paris in 1925. One example of a building facade is the Eastern Columbia Building. Have a stellar week ahead:))

Outline rewards designing outside the box. The Outline column light expertly takes on multiple roles as a pedestrian light, an artful wayfinding element, and an elegant architectural detail. It elevates its category in terms of performance and design potential — defining space throughout parks and plazas, lighting the way along walking paths, and transforming into sculptural clusters of illuminated art. Wolsey Wall Architecture & Interior Design believes in incorporating fun and play throughout our work. In the spirit of sharing that energy with you, we are introducing #FunFactFriday to our page. Today's #FunFactFriday is a post on architectural history. Did you know that architecture was an Olympic sport? The Olympic Stadium was designed by Jan Wils in 1928 games earned and won the Olympic gold in architecture. "During the first four decades of the modern Olympic Games, 151 medals were awarded for music, painting, sculpture, literature, and architecture. Baron Pierre de Coubertin, who revived the modern games and founded the International Olympic Committee, considered art an essential part of the competition. The one caveat: every submission had to be sports-related." Reference: ArchDaily #architecture #design #funfacts

The Dream Machine - 3389 #AIArt Prompt: Generate a picture that combines a Gothic architectural style with a space setting. The image should create a feeling of excitement. Include elements that have an organic quality, perhaps demonstrating the mingling of ancient design and the infinite cosmos. Use muted grays and blacks typical of Gothic aesthetics and vibrant hues to represent the space elements. Capture the intricate details of Gothic design such as pointed arches, ribbed vaults, or maybe a space capsule inspired by Gothic design. The organic elements can be represented by plant-like extraterrestrial lifeforms or nebulae appearing as space-born foliage. Must be a fascinating blend of near and far, old and new.
