Carlota Guerrero started experimenting with photography as a teenager but studied psychology and communications at university in Barcelona, with a particularly impactful year abroad in Paris. “I started seeing how art was respected — and [how] I could make a career from it,” she told BoF. Aged 24, Guerrero landed her first major commercial project as a photographer and art director — for Solange Knowles’ studio album “Seat at the Table”. With a distinctive minimalistic aesthetic and visual language, often working with groups of women and identity exploration, Guerrero has since landed accounts with the likes of Givenchy and Dior, Loewe, Phillip Lim, Zara and Nike, as well as further collaborations with Knowles. 📸 The Unseen Efforts Behind the Perfect Fashion Shot 📸 As a fashion photographer, I've come to realize that capturing the perfect shot is far more than just clicking a button. It's an art form that demands creativity, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Behind every stunning image you see, there's a story of hard work and dedication: Endless Preparation: From scouting the ideal locations to coordinating with models, stylists, and makeup artists, the preparation phase is crucial. Every detail must align perfectly to bring the envisioned concept to life. Unpredictable Challenges: Whether it's dealing with unpredictable weather, uncooperative lighting, or last-minute changes, fashion photographers must be quick on their feet and adaptable. Each obstacle is a test of our problem-solving skills and creativity. Hours of Shooting: The perfect shot often requires hours, sometimes even days, of shooting. We experiment with angles, poses, and lighting to capture that one image that stands out and tells a compelling story. Meticulous Editing: Post-production is where the magic truly happens. It takes a keen eye and patience to enhance every detail, ensuring the final image is flawless and aligns with the artistic vision. Physical and Mental Stamina: The job demands both physical endurance and mental resilience. Long hours, heavy equipment, and the pressure to deliver exceptional results can be taxing, but the passion for our craft keeps us going. Fashion photography is more than a profession; it's a labor of love. It's about pushing boundaries, embracing challenges, and constantly striving for perfection. To all my fellow photographers out there, I salute your dedication and hard work. Your efforts are truly inspiring! Let's continue to capture the beauty, the fashion, and the moments that tell our unique stories. 📷✨ #FashionPhotography #BehindTheLens #CreativeProcess #PhotographyPassion #HardWork #Dedication #Artistry

Is it ok to stick my tongue out at a photo shoot? If a model sticks their tongue out in a photo shoot, it could have a variety of meanings, including: Playfulness or fun Seductiveness or flirtation Rebellion or defiance Humour or quirkiness Excitement or anticipation The actual meaning will depend on the context of the shoot, the model's expression, and the overall vibe they are trying to create but ultimately, the meaning is for the viewer to decide. Here are some examples of how the pose of sticking out one's tongue has been used in fashion photography: In 1998, British model Kate Moss stuck her tongue out for a Calvin Klein perfume ad, which became one of the most iconic fashion images of all time. In 2012, American model Cara Delevingne stuck her tongue out for a Burberry campaign, which helped to launch her career as one of the most popular models in the world. In 2017, American model Kendall Jenner stuck her tongue out for a LOVE magazine cover, which was photographed by famous photographer Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. These are just a few examples of how the pose of sticking out one's tongue has been used in fashion photography. It is a versatile pose that can be used to create a variety of looks, from playful to seductive to rebellious. What do you think if the picture that I sent to my agency Meliora Talent Management Agency? #pose #modelling #playful #fun

For this photoshoot, I aimed to capture the essence of Hollywood noir, inspired by the glamour and mystery of the Academy Awards. Vogue México approached me to create a series of images that exuded elegance and sophistication; images that would transport viewers to a bygone era of classic cinema. Shooting on film allowed me to infuse the photographs with a touch of nostalgia while maintaining the timeless allure of black and white photography. Through careful composition and attention to detail, I sought to create a visual narrative that would captivate the audience and evoke a sense of intrigue and allure.
