Yesterday, I had a great full-day workshop on #BehavioralDiscountManagement at the Professional Pricing Society Conference in Chicago: #PPSCHI24 Together with an wonderful group of highly engaged participants, we were elaborating on the four drivers for unnecessary disocunts and how to best re-gain the lost margin step-by-step: Pricing Intelligence, Incentive System, Governance and Ability to Negotiate. All of these driver center around managing sales behavior because it is the black box of individual behavior where most of the unnecessary discounts are resulting from. For each of these topics, we discussed easy-to-implement quick wins as well as strategic measures.
