Boeing faces significant hurdles in enhancing aircraft safety, as pointed out by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Following an incident where a door panel detached during an Alaska Airlines flight in January, the FAA has given Boeing 90 days to submit a comprehensive plan addressing these critical safety concerns. 🔍 The FAA's Michael Whitaker emphasised that the plan is merely the start of a rigorous process to ensure Boeing meets the necessary safety standards. With Boeing's CEO set to step down later this year amidst these challenges, the aviation community watches closely as the company aims to redefine its commitment to safety and quality. 🛠️ As stakeholders in aerospace, let's discuss how such rigorous oversight can push for better safety protocols and industry standards. How can other companies learn from Boeing's scrutiny? What is the role of Inspection? #Aerospace #SafetyFirst #Boeing #FAA #AviationIndustry #Regulator #Inspection #Safety

It is interesting to see people reacting to a flight incident that could happen to any plane, #Boeing or not. It is also interesting to see how the media exaggerates a lot of what goes on around us without an actual proper analysis of the causes of the problem. The news are interested in interviewing people to keep the news cycle going and the stock prices. It looks like Boeing has issues that it needs to deal with. No one is analyzing these issues. Boeing is definitely not talking about it. If it did talk about it in 2018 & 2019 maybe we won't be here! That was my observation then and it is still the same now. #Safety starts with transparency. Go back to the basics and focus on "What" is right as opposed to "Who" is right. Even if that who is a VP or a CEO of a major company. Safety must come first and something needs to be done now. Actually something should have been done 10 years ago since this is related to strategy decisions that were taken around a decade ago! The interesting point in that interview is the #DEI concept mentioned by Mr. Poli. Smart observation and spot on on a matter that will have huge safety effects in many fields simply because it does not make any sense. No one talks about it because it is not politically correct! But this guy did and he is right. Kudos to #FabrizioPoli #safetyculture #aviationindustry #strategy #boeing

Today American Express and Delta Air Lines announced the launch of a redesigned limited-edition Boeing 747 Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Card. 33% of the metal in each card comes from two retired Delta 747 planes that delivered a combined 55 years of service. The cards are cloud-white in color and feature each plane’s history, including their first and last flights, tail number and number of miles flown. This is an exciting opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and Card Members to have a piece of aviation history in their wallets! Check out this video to see how we transformed these planes into credit cards.

Few could argue that 1970's start-up Air Florida had not "evolved" a fairly attractive paint scheme, one that certainly suited the company's name and Miami headquarters. The blue, green, and white ensemble looked particularly good when clean and captured in good sunlight, as was the case with this ex-United Boeing 737-222 "N62AF" photographed one day late in 1980 about to return to earth at MIA. This livery made it onto the company's 727-200, 737-200, DC-9-15, and DC-10-30 aircraft but was most common on the airline's large fleet of Boeing twinjets. After beginning service with a single ex-Pan am 707-321 in 1972, Air Florida ultimately grew to fly nearly 60 aircraft. Unfortunately an at-fault fatal 1982 crash involving the subject aircraft of this photo-post in the Potomac River (immediately after departure from Washington-National), along with overexpansion, led to its demise in 1984. Notice the McDonnell Douglas Delta DC-8-61 on her gate in the lower left corner of this image. Interested in legendary Pan Am? What is the difference between Airport, Aerodrome and Airfield? Airport: A place often with multiple runways where commercial aircraft regularly take off and land usually based on a schedule, it has buildings for passengers flight management (Control tower) and services such as refueling, maintenance etc. An airport is normally a commercial enterprise. An Airfield: is on a much smaller scale usually non commercial and used for private or irregular charter flights minimal runways and limited services can also be military. minimal if any control. An Aerodrome is an old English word that has been replace with the word airfield so aerodrome and airfield are the same. #airport #runway #aviation
