"What I enjoyed most about the MBA program is that it expanded my knowledge and understanding of matters I have used in my work and personal life. I have grown here as a person whose own ambition is to leave the world a better place; CBU has given me some of the tools to do exactly that.” - Lindsay Marshall, Sping 2024 graduate from the MBA CED Program. I am heading to #StLouis for the Council of Graduate Schools 2024 Annual Meeting this week. I will be presenting in the session: Preparing for Uncertainty: Strategic Planning at Critical Junctures Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 AM CST Based on my 2019 paper*, I will talk about my experiences at The University of Texas at San Antonio and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley related to Key Performance Indicators (#KPI) and #Strategic Planning: Quantitative tools are crucial for creating a solid foundation for strategic planning and execution. However, the key to turning plans into action lies in accurately identifying stakeholders and maintaining their engagement through clear communication grounded in metrics and performance indicators. A data-driven approach fosters awareness, accountability, and action, while promoting organizational alignment and driving momentum toward achieving goals on schedule. *(https://lnkd.in/dXEkQn-y) If you are attending CGS 2024 (https://lnkd.in/dkCmmPHD), see you in St. Louis. For anyone interested, I'm going to be presenting at the May 8th Albany/Capital District ASCM Awards & Scholarship Dinner. Topic and details below. Should Waste be the Primary Focus of Improvement Efforts? Presented by Todd Nadler, CPIM-F, CSCP, CSSGB Those familiar with Lean Enterprise know that eliminating waste is considered a primary focus. If we think about it, however, is waste really the primary cause of problems in our organizations? Is there a more root cause undermining our improvement efforts, no matter the methodology, and making them difficult to sustain? If so, what is it and what special challenges exist in addressing it? https://lnkd.in/e3tpfpNx

QUT (Queensland University of Technology)'s new cohort of Executive MBA students in Canberra could not wait to kick-off 2025. Already on the very first weekend of the year, we came together for the unit ‘Strategic Management’. The highly interactive class featured concepts and examples covering topics such as responsible strategies, environmental scanning and competitive positioning. A focus has been on how to include empowered stakeholders, advanced technologies, and socio-demographic and geopolitical challenges into contemporary strategy design. Case-based learning helped to see the value of zero-based strategising, the importance of strategy latency and the need for an explicit opportunity appetite statement. A great start to execute on the New Year's resolution - Learn more.
