Time is a concept whose definition can vary from person to person and from one moment of life to another. Some may say, "Time is money," while others remark, "Time flies," and its interpretation can differ greatly. Today, when I opened my mailbox, I received a pleasant message and surprise, marking twenty-one years since I joined Schaeffler. From being a 15-year-old apprentice to where I am now, much has changed in my life. Now, I am Husband, a Girl's Dad, and a contributor to the company. So, today, I define time as #experience! Who is an attractive employer for you? ❓ I’m beyond proud that Bosch has been awarded as the #number1 most attractive employer automotive TopCareer Award 2024 in the "Automotive Supplier" category in Germany. We have been recognized the third time in a row!🏆 Since 2009, the Institut für Automobilwirtschaft (IfA) and the business magazine Automobilwoche have been identifying the most attractive employers in the automotive and mobility industry. This award is a result of a survey among students and young professionals and shows the employer attractiveness of Bosch. 🌟 If you haven't yet had the opportunity to speak to our managing director Joerg Engelmann in person, we've put together a few facts for you. 🌟 🎓 Jörg's journey began with a passion for his apprenticeship as a machine and plant fitter at Chemnitz-based company Apparatebau GERMANIA. This was followed by a successful degree in mechanical engineering. With this solid foundation, he embarked on a career path as a project engineer at CAC, which finally led him to the top of CAC. 🔍 We asked Joerg Engelmann about his standout moment at CAC. His answer? "Every successfully installed plant was and is a highlight.   Personally, I am proud of the technology partnership we entered into with the Japanese global corporation Asahi Kasei more than 20 years ago. A real success story for both companies! It was an example of the innovative spirit and dedication that defines CAC." 🤝 We look forward to many more milestones and successes on our journey together! Today Robert Bosch celebrates his 163rd birthday. He not only left behind a great, innovative company whose products and services live up to the claim of “invented for life”, but also a foundation. The Robert Bosch Stiftung is active in the three areas of health, education and global issues. The latter also includes the design field of “democracy” with the core question “How can we strengthen democracy in Germany and Europe?” A question whose answer is unfortunately becoming more and more urgent. Everyone sells something... Since 2017, I have had the incredible opportunity to train 300+ colleagues at Heraeus Precious Metals and Heraeus on #commercialexcellence and it has been an absolute blast! 💥 Just yesterday, I wrapped up another fantastic 3-day, hands-on session in Hanau with 14 amazing colleagues from across the globe 🌍. Together, we dove deep into improving our commercial skills with the customer always at the center. From coming up with powerful questions to calculating customer value, we went over several real-life cases in small groups. I always say, only 10% of the content may stick with participants long-term—but secretly, I hope it’s more! 🤫 And when that knowledge gets put into action? That’s when the magic happens! Over the years, these trainings have introduced me to colleagues from diverse functions— Sales, Customer Service, Innovation, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Operations, Business Management and Heraeus' own In-house Consulting. The best part? Watching them expand their thinking and perspectives on #commercialexcellence while learning from them in return. 💡 Learning truly is a two-way street! Last week we were joined for an industry chat by Mark Banks, currently Head of Programme Management at Xtrac Ltd, and formerly from Aston Martin and McLaren. He shared his career journey and gave many useful insights into breaking into the automotive sector: - In addition to a good education and a good CV, you need to demonstrate an interest in the automotive or motorsport sector. Maybe you’re a car enthusiast, working at a car dealership, or writing a dissertation on a related research topic? - There are many entryways into this industry: graduate programmes such as Aston Martin, Maclaren, or Jaguar Land Rover are popular with graduates. Consultancies with big automotive teams include Roland Berger, EY, and Ven Digital. But there are also great opportunities within the supply chain for automotive – check out companies like Bosch and Continental, who work directly with car companies and often see their talent move across the sector. - Networking is important! If you are genuinely new to automotive then start by attending an auto or motor sporting event, of which there are many across the country and the world. 🌟 Reflecting On an Unforgettable Experience with Nissan 🌟 On June 4th 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a pre-lab immersion experience with Nissan Motor Corporation as part of my 𝗠𝗕𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁 IE Business School. Although a few weeks have passed, the insights and inspiration from this event have been resonating with me, and I wanted to take the time to share this impactful experience. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗯 (𝗕𝗜𝗟) is a unique component of the IE Business School MBA program, where students collaborate with leading companies like Nissan to solve real-world business challenges. This hands-on experience allows us to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, driving innovation and impactful solutions. During the event, we delved into Nissan's operations with an insightful presentation by Christian Costaganna, Managing Director of Nissan Spain, and Laura Serrano Martinez, Head of Strategy and Business Planning at Nissan Spain.
