We’re paving the way with hybrid-electric technology in our advanced electric drive systems. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche Cars North America, Cadillac, BMW of North America, Alpine, and Automobili Lamborghini America LLC cars were equipped with Bosch components. Tested under extreme conditions, our hybrid systems ensure top performance for both race cars and everyday vehicles. Our own Jacob Bergenske explains that as complexity increases, the need for collaboration also increases. 📷📷️📷️ Read more on Design News: https://bit.ly/45RJPeT #mobility #autosupplier #automotive #LeMans #motorsport #racing #electricvehicle #EV #HybridTechnology

Want to break LAP RECORDS? You need an ELECTRIC VAN! "An electric van reaching speeds above 300km/h has broken the unofficial lap record at Mount Panorama, Bathurst. The Ford SuperVan 4.2 lapped the circuit faster than the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG coupe which had set a new record only eight days earlier. With two-time Le Mans winner Romain Dumas at the wheel, the electric Ford set a 1:56.28 to beat the fastest lap set by Jules Gounon in the Mercedes-AMG GT, a 1:56.6064." Several times during the fastest lap it passed 300km/h – the top speed of the Supercars on the fastest section of the track in qualifying was 281km/h, yet using a much smaller body than the SuperVan’s Transit shell." If you've ever been to the Mt Panorama Race circuit, just outside Bathurst in Australia, you'll know it is one of the world's greatest race circuits - up there with Spa, Nurburgring and Laguna Seca. It's steep up and down, with huge elevation and a very fast straight. That Ford Motor Company's one off electric Supervan, loosely based on a Ford Transit, was able to secure the lap record is unbelievable! It's roughly 10 seconds a lap faster than the V8 Supercars, and 2 seconds faster than a race prepared Mercedes-Benz AG AMG GT. So next time you see a tradesman or a contractor pull up beside your V8 muscle car in their electric van, don't try to race them. You might just get completely smoked. The Rock Crawling Porsche 911's Suspension Was Originally Developed For the 919 Le Mans Car https://lnkd.in/eS7QbfVv In December, Le Mans legend Romain Dumas was at the wheel of the highly modified Porsche 911 Carrera 4S that broke the altitude record for wheeled vehicles. But Dumas isn’t the only connection this record-setting 911 has to the legendary 24-hour enduro. Its trick suspension was originally meant for Le Mans. While much of this Carrera’s drivetrain is unmodified, its suspension has been totally redone, equipped with a system Porsche calls the Warp Connector. Originally created for the Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid, it was shelved early on in that car’s development and unused until this project. It’s unlike the suspension system in any other Porsche. Instead of letting each corner operate independently, the Warp Connector suspension goes in the opposite direction, interconnecting all four corners for maximum traction. The front axle and rear axle are each connected transversely to their own centrally mounted springs and dampers. For the front axle, that spring and damper setup is located under the hood, just in front of the windshield cowl. For the rear axle, the spring and damper can be found at the rear of the cabin, where you’d normally find the parcel shelf. The “connector” in the Warp Connector is the final piece of the puzzle. It’s a solid bar that connects each axle longitudinally via a series of pivot points. The bar creates a sort of twist tension between the front and rear, so if one axle articulates a certain way, the bar enacts a force onto the other axle, coaxing it to articulate in the opposite direction (...).
