👮♂️Ever heard this before? “I want to be CSI (crime scene investigator) when I graduate college.” 📺When the show “CSI” was popular, and I was a cop, I heard this statement many times from college and high school students. Lots of folks wanted to be CSI but they didn’t want to be street cops first. 📕When I read “The Daily Laws” by Robert Greene, I immediately thought about this experience because he has a section of the book devoted to mastery vs apprenticeship. 👉The short point is: you want to be a master at something? Don’t skip the apprenticeship phase. 🤔Wanna be a great CSI? Go be a street cop first. Working the street, day in and day out can’t be traded or replicated or cheat coded or life hacked. 💯The apprenticeship phase is what leads to the mastery phase. That’s the order. 😎He speaks about Napoleon as an example where people thought he was a military genius, but just like everyone else, Napoleon went through an apprentice phase. Put in the work. The grind. Banged on his craft and became a master. 🤔I’m sure this concept must apply to countless career tracks and would love to hear some other examples of apprenticeship mode that leads to mastery mode. #grind #apprenticeship #book

Taking legit professional personality tests can be a major ice breaker and team building exercise. It efficiently showcases strengths, weaknesses, and true enjoyment within a team. Interns can greatly benefit from this amazing tool as well, as it has been valuable throughout my career.
