How do you make the most out of the annual Bellevue College Networking and Job Fair? 1. 💻Pre-register to stay informed on any changes or updates! 2. 🔎Prepare!! → Research companies of interest that are attending and prepare to explain why you’re interested. → Based on the positions you are interested in, update your resume and make sure to print multiple copies to distribute. → Prepare a short elevator pitch to present to attending employers that illustrates your skills and what you can bring to the table. 3. 🚪Attend → Make a strong first impression: eye contact, firm handshake, remember names, and dress in business casual attire. → Don't forget to hand out your resume and ask for contact details from the employers so that you can follow up after. → Remember to engage in meaningful conversations; you are not a robot! → Most importantly, NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK. 4. 📧Follow Up → After the fair, follow up with a thank-you email that restates your interest and qualifications, and includes an updated resume. → You could even consider a follow-up call! → To grow your network, consider requesting to connect on LinkedIn so that they can have a better look into who you are and for you to stay updated on potential opportunities.
