I remember one of my first all hands at L2 where Scott Galloway explained NDR. Not only was it a great explainer for a new business term – it also showed me the metric that Scott/the company (and therefore I) should care a lot about.
Every company/executive team has 1-2 mission critical metrics that they measure the business on. If you’re at a SaaS or recurring revenue company, there’s a good chance NDR is one of them.
But no matter the exact metric, if your CEO or exec team is talking about a metric constantly, you have to know it inside and out – not only how to define it, but also the behaviors it drives, and how you can influence it.
This week, we used Personal Math to break down NDR and why it matters, and also use it as an example for how you can translate and speak the language of the metrics your CEO cares about.
