My name is Byana Spasojevic, I am researcher and lecturer at Griffith University. I have been with Griffith for last, well almost 10 years and I'm doing research in intersection of aviation and tourism. The Lord Mayor's Trailblazer grant enables early career researchers to prepare and attend for a conference in their field. It gives them visibility. It also gives them a chance to network with people in their area to start and boost their own research at the same time presenting Brisbane in the best light and ultimately working with with Vida and their universities to bring conference back to Brisbane in a couple of years. I think Brisbane has a really good reputation simply because of that partnerships and opportunities that are available in Brisbane. So in business in Brisbane and doing research in Brisbane feels so easy because you're so connected with all other partners. If I need anyone from the airport or from an airline or from the government, even from Vida City Council, it is really easy to get to people and get them working together with you.
