Broad River Electric's Charities Board has proudly supported numerous non-profit and public service organizations within our service territory. One of our largest areas of focus is education and we've funded several innovative classroom projects through our Bright Ideas Educator Grants. Mrs. Bowen, a Bright Ideas grant recipient, purchased new solar system sets, class pets, cubbies, safety glasses, hot plates and more for her 6th-grade science class at Blacksburg Middle School. We're thrilled to see the positive impact these grants have on both teachers and students. Bright Idea Grant Applications for the 2024 - 2025 school year are open until July 31. Please apply or spread the word to educators in our service area! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eVg-52ZA

Education unlocks potential, but financial barriers often block deserving students' paths—especially for first-generation and undocumented scholars. That's why we at Mission Graduates are proud to partner with the Mission Promise Neighborhood to provide critical support for students at John O'Connell High School. Our goal is to bridge the higher education gap. Even with traditional financial aid, students face tuition gaps, application fees, and technology costs. Undocumented students confront even greater hurdles as they don't qualify for government tuition assistance. Here's how you can make a difference: • Donate: Text MPNSF24 to 53-555 or visit givebutter.com/MPNSF24 to invest in their futures. • Volunteer: Let me know if you'd like to explore volunteering, including opportunities with scholarship selection. • Spread the Word: Share this post to raise awareness about #EducationEquity! #MissionGraduates #EducationEquity #UndocumentedStudents #FirstGeneration #CollegeAccess #SanFrancisco
This is how YOU can help Mission students get to college: The 9th annual Mission Promise Neighborhood Scholarship Fundraiser starts TODAY! For the past 9 years, Mission Promise Neighborhood (MPN) and Mission Graduates have teamed up to help college-bound seniors at John O'Connell High School reach the next step towards achieving their dreams with a college education. Today through May 15th, help us reach our goal of $10,000 to send our amazing Mission students to college. Donate by texting MPNSF24 to 53-555 or visiting givebutter.com/MPNSF24

The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (EIN: 35-2779639). Our goal is to provide cleaner air in school and other public buildings with particular interest in underserved and/or vulnerable communities. We do this largely through financial grants, materials, or a combination of the two to build Corsi-Rosenthal boxes (CR Boxes). The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation is run by consensus of a Board of Directors. All Board members are volunteers and receive no salary. As such, 100% of donations go directly to grantees for cleaning the air for their communities. No donations are used to purchase materials from companies affiliated with any Board members. Donations come in two forms: (1) individuals or corporations can make a financial donation, or (2) filter manufacturers and other companies can donate filters, fans or duct tape which are provided to grantees for assembling CR Boxes. While the Foundation is young and ramping up activities, we are proud to have allocated resources to build CR Boxes in schools/school districts and veterans centers in Mississippi, Kentucky, Arizona, Washington DC, and more. Only two days left to vote Team Husky or Team Cougar! For the #BoeingAppleCup this Saturday, WSU and UW are competing to raise funds for their campus food pantries! In the leadup to the big game, these rivals are coming together to tackle college hunger. Every donation counts as a gift, and all funds support the WSU Campus Food Pantry and the UW Food Pantry. Vote/Donate for your team - now until the 14th! Cougs - https://lnkd.in/gBHGymBu Huskies - https://lnkd.in/g5tQefpK College hunger is a far too common experience on college campuses where the costs of tuition, housing, books, and groceries intersect, and nearly 40% of students don’t get enough to eat. University food pantries provide essential support to students in need, helping them stay focused on their studies.

Did you know that The $100 Solution™ also works with high schools? Senior students at Waggener High School in Louisville, Kentucky held a seminar for freshman on the secrets to success in high school using The $100 Solution model. This seminar was through their College NoW program and a dual credit course offered through Western Kentucky University. While the students originally planned to use the $100 on snacks and food, they chose to give these funds to the school’s food pantry which is accessible by students in need of meals for evenings and weekends. The students' secrets to success in high school? The phone is the high school students #1 enemy. From what they found; the average student was spending 6 hours a day on their phone! They recommended the freshmen pick a day or two to “forget their phone" and focus on their school work. The other key to success they spoke on was the importance of proper time management. Want to read more about this awesome program? Check out this article from earlier this year: https://lnkd.in/gBad_Yym Support us during our annual giving campaign going on now through December 22nd.
