It has taken some time to find a technically feasible answer to this question. We have already gone through several generations of porous asphalt surface courses. The current specifications of Porous Asphalt PA represent a further step towards increased durability and more permanent noise reduction. High-quality polymer-modified bitumen, a higher binder content in combination with fibers (VIATOP of course) and a revised composition of the mix with higher voids...the next step in the right direction. The experts in The Netherlands are setting the trends in this field and we can learn a lot from them. The goal is 10 dB A noise reduction over a service life of 20 years. Our latest case study detailing RHINOPHAlT being used on the Pacific Highway demonstrates that proven European asphalt preservation technology can be successfully applied in Australia to benefit highway and Toll Road users. Working collaboratively, with TfNSW Northern Region, ASI Solutions, Downer and RETEX delivered a sustainable solution to prolong the life and improve the performance of their Open Graded Asphalt (OGA). The main benefits of proactively intervening with RHINOPHALT to prolong the life of the OGA include significant whole life cycle cost savings and carbon savings compared to milling and replacement of the OGA wearing course. The company's journey began in 2013 with the creation of a “smart feeder” with digital controls for farmers raising fish and shrimp in Indonesia. Gradually, the startup grew, adding the ability to purchase feed online directly from suppliers, along with other necessary resources. Today, farmers who have joined eFishery can even secure loans to expand their operations with just a few clicks in the app 📲 💵 In May 2024, the company raised $30 million in a Series C funding round. The round was co-led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek, the Indian arm of venture firm Sequoia Capital, and Japanese tech giant SoftBank through its Vision Fund II.
