What do panties, skincare, cookies and tequila have to do with each other? We are all WBENC certified companies that just attended the #wbencnationalconference in Denver. We all sell products to retailers. We're all scrappy founders who are all-in and working tirelessly to build our brands. Most importantly we all take every opportunity to learn and grow. We recognize that even if we're in very different types of businesses, we can learn so much from each other. We talked about production, sales materials, corporate structures and so much more. We did not need a formal process to create our own little cohort. I can't wait to continue our conversations. It's so nice to have a family of female founders, so this doesn't feel so lonely. These stats about #brandbuilding from a CMO at a top consumer company stopped me in my tracks... 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘪𝘥 𝘥𝘰𝘨 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯. 🐶🤓 E.L.F. BEAUTY is celebrating is 20th Anniversary this year and is set to hit $1B in revenue 'sooner rather than later' after sales surged +76% last quarter. What does the team attribute the success to? You guessed it, 𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚. 🧱 According to Kory Marchisotto on The Speed of Culture Podcast, the company was only spending 7% of its annual budget on marketing when she joined in 2019. "GenZ doesn't like TiktokShop" Are you sure about that? I've seen a trend with beauty brands saying that they are capitalizing on TikTok shop and seeing great results! What is the disconnect, and who is the demographic buying from TikTok shop? Being an avid Tiktok user, I don't think that GenZ has an issue with TikTok Shop. Instead, they have an issue with the approach of promoting products on the platform that feels foreign/forced to the authentic nature of the platform. In their words "stop trying so hard" it's fake. Bulldozing the platform with salesy, oblivious, and obnoxious infomercials is what GenZ doesn't like. #GenZ #marketingtechnology #tiktokmarketing #tiktokshop
