May is Mental Health Awareness Month This national observance was started in 1949 by Mental Health America to bring attention to the importance of mental well-being. This is a time to promote awareness, offer education and resources, and advocate for change. While society is getting more comfortable discussing mental health, stigma still exists. 💡Many Americans do not have access to high-quality, evidence-based treatment and care when they need it. 💡 Less than ½ of adults in the United States with mental illness received treatment in 2021. 💡1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year. 💡1 in 6 youth in the United Stated have a mental health condition but only half receive treatment. Please take the time to talk about mental health and to create communities that value and support mental well-being. #MHAM2024 #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #selfcare #mindset #wellness #mentalwellbeing #stopthestigma

World Mental Health Day: Prioritizing Well-Being for All Today, we come together to raise awareness about mental health and the importance of emotional well-being. This year's theme emphasizes the significance of access to mental health care for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. Mental health is just as crucial as physical health, yet many individuals face barriers in seeking help. Let's break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and foster open conversations that encourage understanding and support. Remember, it's okay to not be okay. Reach out to friends, family, or professionals if you need help, and be there for others who might be struggling. Together, we can create a world where mental health is prioritized, and every person feels valued and supported. Join us in advocating for mental health resources and education, and let’s work towards a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive! #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma

It's Mental Health Awareness Month, and we're thinking about ways to address the youth mental health crisis happening in North Carolina. The Center of Excellence for Integrated Care (COE), an FHLI program, has proposed a policy to give every child the option to get a free annual Mental Health Well Visit. This would help: ➡️ Eliminate patient cost barriers to mental health care. ➡️ Reduce mental health stigma by making it part of a yearly routine. ➡️ Identify mental health issues early—before they create more significant problems.
