A couple of weeks have passed since the annual MRSI seminar in Mumbai but the energy we experienced is still going strong! Thank you Mitali Chowhan, Diana Moraru and team for this exciting opportunity Along with presenting our paper on how to effectively work with creators to grow brands, we also heard expert insights from industry leaders. Here are a few thoughts that really stood out to me, that we heard from this panel of eminent speakers, including Shuvadip Banerjee, Nithya Komanduri, Chandan Mukherji, Saugato Bhowmik, Siddhant Mazumdar and Karthik Nagarajan - Data is our biggest ally. As insight professionals, we need to keep coming back to this, and always keep in mind that data can reveal so much, so quickly! - When it comes to the younger mobile-first gen, it isn't their attention deficit that's the real problem, but rather engagement is the real issue. Reframing it this way puts things within our control. - It's time to start thinking, what does new age influencer marketing look like and how can brands stand out in the clutter? Is it gaming? UGC? The jury is still out on this one... - More than meaningless numbers, credible followers are way more important. Content creation has been democratized in India and going deeply vernacular could be a game changing strategy - What about start-ups? Agile innovation and testing consumer affinity in a nimble way is key for brand incubation. In the dynamic world of ecommerce, this isn't just a saying, it's a mantra. Beyond the obvious metrics like conversion rates and average order value lies a deeper truth: what we choose to measure shapes how we run our business. A narrow focus on sales figures alone can leave crucial insights masked, hence sales metrics should always be complemented by (measured :p) flavors of - 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆: Mapping the touchpoints, identifying friction points, and measuring improvements in user experience. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Measuring the impact of marketing campaigns, website changes, and product offerings to learn and iterate. 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Looking beyond single transactions. Measuring customer engagement, repeat purchases, and average spend over time. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Tracking social media mentions, reviews, and brand perception.
