Yet another splendid all-Ducati podium provides the setting for the eleventh consecutive win, doubly precious since it marks our 100th victory in MotoGP and because it secures the 2024 Constructors' World Championship, the sixth title in our history and fifth consecutive.
100! A significant number in itself that takes on even a greater worth if we consider the short period of time in which it was attained, at least as far as the victories of recent years are concerned. But this is not merely a number: it is the result of a work carried out with commitment, enthusiasm and humility, always trying to grow and improve, and all together. A fundamental Team spirit that marks the sporting and human path, our demeanour and winning drive in which we firmly believe. I thank all the women and men of Ducati Corse for this, on the track and at home, my first thought and congratulations going to all of them: Our Champions!
Today's victory bears Enea’s name: immense, with a race conduct that portrayed his prowess and how much he’s able to deliver when starting with the leaders. Not surprising, a crystalline talent who kept close to Martin until he launched the final attack, after both had lapped with awesome timings. Most impressive!
Yes, an equally unrelenting Martin, immediately and fiercely challenging at the start and with a superior pace in the first laps in which he seemed to have more in store, then overpowering in his hunger for victory and in his nature of true fighter. Until the end, without ever being satisfied after Pecco's exit, he sought a success fraught with many risks and for this he must be given great credit, even more so after the unhappy epilogue of the last race. What a warrior!
Pecco at the beginning was experiencing obvious difficulties due to a problem that we still have to analyse and after having been trailing in the first half of the race he was the protagonist of an irresistible second half of the contest, clocking incredible times, before finding himself in the gravel thus sadly ending a spasmodic chasing of the leaders. And so, after dominating the qualifiers and winning the Sprint Race, not only does he not recover any more world championship points, nor limits the damage, but incurs a most inopportune "zero".
To complete the winning party, Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi and Morbidelli, 3rd, 4th and 5th, all contribute to the wonderful Ducati “five”, with all the teams represented and, above all, confirming all the good, or should we say excellent, performance they had shown in the last few races. Come on, Ducati!
A special thought in a bittersweet vein: today it was an omen that No. 23 had to win... both on the track and deep in our hearts. Farewell, Luca!
