Let’s talk about a double standard in agency searches. Clients can ask anything they want of agencies, and many firms will jump through hoops to win their business. Yet if an agency asks for clarification on the budget, or for a conversation with the client, or for the timeline to be shifted slightly—some clients say sorry, that’s just what it takes to win our business. Fortunately, many clients see the double standard in this all, and opt for a process that’s fair and reasonable for both sides. So here's my reminder: If it’s a partnership you want, you have to treat the other party like a partner!
