Read about it here 👇🏻 🔵 Background: On 17 May 2024, Wild Coast communities and supporting organisations will be in the Supreme Court of Appeal to defend the groundbreaking High Court judgment which set aside Shell’s exploration right - which provided for Shell to explore for oil and gas off the wild coast of South Africa. The appeal was brought by Shell, Impact Africa, and the Minister of Minerals and Energy. 🗝️Key takeaways from the High Court Judgment that found against Shell: 〰️There was no meaningful consultation with communities, and consulting traditional leadership only is not sufficient. 〰️Because there was no definitive information on the harms to the environment, when deciding whether to grant the exploration right, the Minister should have used a precautionary approach. 〰️The judgment acknowledged the key role of the ocean in the livelihoods and spiritual and cultural life of coastal communities. The harms to these religious and ancestral beliefs and practices should have been taken into account. 〰️Had the Minister taken the issues of climate change and right to food into account, he may have found that the project was “neither needed nor desirable”. 〰️The Integrated Coastal Management Act needed to be considered in the decision-making process. 〰️The Minister had shown himself to be biased in favour of Shell. 〰️Shell’s Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) contained statements promising jobs and increased government revenue. Ohio Duck Rescue Expert ~ Lisa Montgomery has been re-homing fowl in Ohio for the last decade and has a vital perspective. Her observations support local reports and concerned citizen commentary addressing local town council about disappearing geese in Springfield. Springfield has become Ground Zero in the Fight for America 🇺🇸 This small town has become unlikely center of Presidential debate about Illegal Immigration. The uproar has brought home how rampant immigration can destroy a small town ill equipped to upscale resources to meet demand across every sector of human services. Although many stories involving illegal immigrants wreaking grievous bodily harm and death have erupted regionally across America, not one has raised a sustained national response like Springfield. For better or worse, the people had a visceral response to Trump drawing attention to the plight of innocent animals, the tip of proverbial iceberg. MSM is attempting to counter the narrative by undermining local eye witness accounts, grating on nerves of independent journalists who have poured into Springfield to capture testimonies. Predictably, MSM is applying race as a central issue, when it is an immigration issue. The temporary protective status of the Haitian population in Springfield was created by a sweep of executive fiat by current Harris Administration, per JD Vance. This status adds a certain twist to equation and will be cause for future debate over legality of such fiat and by extension the validity of Haitians categorization as temporarily protected migrants versus illegal immigrant status. MSM has ferociously defended the status of the Haitian population as ‘legal’ migrants as opposed to illegal immigrants. What has become glaringly crystal clear is a local government imposing wholesale forfeiture of legal rights, protections and government services paid for by US citizen’s tax dollars on behalf of immigrants. Finally tens of millions of Americans are looking into what is happening in Springfield and by extension, connecting what is now occurring in pockets all over the USA; no longer limited to big cities where it can be attributed to those who vote for progressive policies. Springfield did not vote for progressive policies, it is a deep red county. Fortunately for Springfield, a young man emerged from small town Ohio and is now leveraging his finely honed oratorial prowess to disrupt the Goliath of MSM and give Trump a moment to catch his breath between being virtually gagged during the most important debate in US History and his 2nd assassination attempt within 63 days. This is a moment that has potentially forever changed the course of US History.
