The Illinois paid leave law for Jan 1, 2024, had regulations released on April 30th, 2024. Here are some highlights: Carryover - employer & employee may mutually agree in writing and on an annual basis that unused PTO with be paid out to the employee vs carried over into the next year. Front-loading - employers must give written notice to the employee informing the employee of how many hours they are given in PTO before their start date. FYI this is for the state of IL. Chicago/Cook County has additional regulations in addition to these. Best practice: Review this legislation in full and ensure compliance with the law: https://lnkd.in/gqwS2Vhf Message me directly to set up time to discuss ways to: - Proactively manage compliance - Communicate updates to the workforce - Implement organizational goals Let’s strategize together!

🌟 Attention Minnesota Employers! 🌟 Starting January 1, 2024, Minnesota implemented a mandatory paid leave policy for eligible employees, marking a significant shift in employment practices. Here's what you need to know 👉 https://hubs.li/Q02mTSg60 🔹 Eligibility: Employees who have worked a minimum of 80 hours annually (excluding independent contractors) qualify for earned sick and safe time (ESST), regardless of their employment status (part-time, temporary, etc.). 🔹 Accrual Process: Eligible employees start accruing ESST from day one, earning one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a minimum of 48 hours annually. This time off must be compensated at the regular hourly rate. 🔹 Compliance Requirements: Employers are responsible for accurately tracking and reporting ESST hours for all eligible employees. This includes providing detailed earnings statements at the end of each pay period, as mandated by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. #ESST #Compliance #MinnesotaEmployers #PaidLeave #WorkforceManagement #WFM #SickandSafeTime #SickTime #EmployeeLeave #Minnesota #LaborManagement
