"I loved your product portfolio, can we schedule a quick chat?" I often get variations of this in my inbox and I mostly press delete on these mails immediately. The best sales advice I got was treat a prospect like someone you are asking out on a date. How off putting would it be if you kept talking about how cool and smart you were! The best way to land a date is by making the other person feel special and making them anticipate how much fun the date would be. What's the lowest-friction way as a seller to continuously build pipeline? After every positive sales interaction... Ask for a referral. "Anyone you know personally that might be going through similar challenges that it would be worth me reaching out to?" Absolute worst-case scenario is they don't know anyone in a similar boat (leaving you in the exact same place you started) Best-case, you've got some great insights and a few new folks to start a conversation with. Thanks Jason Bay. I hate cold calling btw. My favourite opener is #2 the Gong Opener. Irrespective of the opener you use, practice it and practice it with real objections your business has encountered.
