🔶 We are Land Search and Rescue - Everywhere for Everyone 🔶 Our team of over 3,300 volunteers dedicated over 102,000 hours to providing crucial assistance to the lost, missing and injured throughout Aotearoa during 2023. 🧡 Our 64 Groups, and 5 Specialist teams collectively performed 456 operations that saved the lives of 35 people and rescued or assisted over 300 more. Everyone means Everyone - this is not just about adventurers on mountain tops, as over 25% of our operations were conducted in urban areas looking for regular, everyday Kiwis. 🗣 Have your say on how we work with charities, voluntary organizations, and town and parish councils to help them take ownership and management of council owned assets. We believe that these transfers represent a significant opportunity to strengthen local engagement and make sure assets are managed in a way that best serves the needs of our residents. We are looking to develop a new Disposal and Community Asset Transfer (CAT) Policy which will outline a framework for identifying and transferring surplus assets, such as land, property, and buildings. 🔗Read the proposals and have your say by following the link in the comments.
