#ICYMI: First-of-its-kind BVLOS drone operation for combating wildfires! IN•FLIGHT Data has received approval from the Canadian government to operate drone swarms beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) for wildfire-fighting purposes, allowing simultaneous drone operations at altitudes of up to 2,500 feet. What's particularly fascinating is the concept of simultaneous drone operations (SIMOPS), where an advanced pilot can control multiple aircraft from a single control station—this vastly improved data collection, yielding richer datasets for precise wildfire targeting. Transport Canada - Transports Canada is actively working on regulations for low-risk BVLOS operations, emphasizing safety, scalability, and sustainability. These regulations are currently in the public comment phase, highlighting the government's commitment to safely integrating drones into Canadian skies. Learn more ▶ https://lnkd.in/ex2fGp5D
