Last night, we launched our Young Adult Advisory Council (CYAAC). This is a dynamic group of 16 young adult survivors, siblings, and bereaved siblings, ages 18 - 26 years old, who have been affected by childhood cancer. The intention of the CYAC is to provide a platform for young voices to be heard, offer insights, and help shape the experience of care, programs and services for adolescents and young adults navigating a pediatric cancer journey in our community. We look forward to introducing you to our incredible members and sharing all of the great work they will help lead! 💛

PLEASE WATCH THIS!! We need our army of Sophie's Legacy supporters to help us put pressure on the new government to 'un-pause' the Childhood Cancer Taskforce. We are feeling a bit broken and deflated by the shocking news that they are pausing the taskforce BUT we won't stop FIGHTING!! If we don't fight and advocate for our children, who will? Our children deserve so much more than this. Please go to our website to get the template letter https://lnkd.in/ede6TiFb #sophieslegacy #creatingchange #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth

Is your copy leading donors down a straight path to action? Or are there detours hiding out in your messaging? Remember to read your own copy with an eye toward anything off-mission that could distract your donors --- --- or worse: cause a reader to toss your letter altogether. Case in point: if your cause is care for pediatric cancer patients, why alienate some readers with a political quip on page 3? Or if you're kicking off an historic land reclamation capital campaign, why detour a would-be donor with an off-hand religious remark? Keep your copy on mission. Don't drift. You are not your donor. P.S. Bonus Points for reading your own copy out loud . . . and a Gold Star for asking someone else to read it to you!

Sue's story is remarkable! This month's blog from The Treatment Trend Co highlights the unique bond between a teacher and her students and the profound impact of a cancer diagnosis on both Sue and her classroom. When we first met Sue at a conference where she was a guest speaker, her vibrant and infectious personality immediately captivated us. Her joyful spirit was unmistakable as she tried on our compassion socks, particularly highlighted by her choice of Christmas reindeer socks, which she proudly wore to the evening gala. The more we spoke with Sue, the more we realized her story needed to be shared. As mothers of young children, we understand the special bond between teachers and students. Sue's dedication to her students while battling her own cancer journey is truly remarkable. 🌟 Discover how Sue's unyielding spirit and love for her students shine through in her battle against cancer.
