Last month, I was honored to join a panel at the WEDI / HL7 Health Equity Forum & Workshop with other leading Standard Development Organizations to discuss the role of standards in shaping an equitable future in healthcare. I shared more about how URAC partnered with the National Minority Quality Forum and other leaders to build an accreditation that serves as a seal of approval for organizations striving to achieve health equity — not by perfection, but by principled efforts. We discussed the importance of focusing on organizational behavior and planning, rather than rigid data standards, because data can be siloed and often doesn't tell the full story. We also discussed tailoring healthcare to the individual while understanding and addressing the unique gaps and disparities impacting specific communities. With these core principles in mind, healthcare organizations can measure their success in working towards a more equitable future. You can watch the full panel, which starts at 06:29, here: https://lnkd.in/ezuXV8eB
