Our Learning@Home program is scoring BIG with fathers this year! Back in March, parent educators conducted a series of focus groups to find out how to make monthly Group Connection activities even better, and one of the highlights was they learned ways to involve more dads. Last month’s Group Connection activity was held at Soccer City Tulsa and look at all the dads who attended!⚽ Involving the entire family is key to a child’s development, progress, and success!💚 To learn more about Learning@Home, our home-visiting program for pregnant moms and families with children under age 5, click here: https://lnkd.in/gAWdx_-w #CAPTulsa #EarlyEducation #LearningAtHome #Fathers

✨WORKSHOP WISDOM WEDNESDAY✨ Every child deserves to have a strong, healthy relationship with their parents and caregivers right from the start. For babies and infants much bonding happens through the caretaking skills being provided them. And newborns (0-2 months) are capable of differentiating between our emotional expressions particularly those of joy versus surprise and distress. Therefore, we want all parents and caregivers to be able to respond to their newborn’s needs with joy or at least a sense of calmed confidence. If you are a new Dad or expectant Dad and want to learn or become more confident in your caretaking skills of: handling, feeding, burping, changing, and calming a new born this class is for you. It is taught by an experienced Dad and is just for new Dads or Dad’s-to-be. Currently, there is still room to get registered at - https://lnkd.in/g4D3mS2K but do so soon because these classes tend to fill up! #PCworkshopwisdom #parentingsupport #caretaking #childdevelopment

Author of 3 Bestselling books)/ Teen Coach Served as UNICEF Education Specialist in Uganda, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Somalia and Iraq
A key topic addressed by Dr. Janice Morais. It’s time we rethought our insistence on obedience from our children as blind obedience can lead them to become victims of abuse. Please share your thoughts #childabuse #children #childprotectii
Parent Coach, Founder- NuMinCh / Counseling Psychologist/ Equiping parents with Respectful parenting tools / Making parenting stress-free and joyful
Being obedient is like a badge we wear! Won’t it be so comfortable to have a child who obeys us without asking any question? Also, when a child obeys the elders, it is seen as a sign of respect. While I’m all for respecting others (elders and younger ones), I do not agree that all elders are always right and that elders need to be obeyed at all times. If our children start believing this, they run a risk of being vulnerable to abuse and may never open up about it. What are your views about this? #parenting #childhood #childabuseawareness

Child care in the United States has a long history that is closely connected with religious institutions, which have not only provided care but also offered spiritual guidance. Despite being widespread, the faith-based aspect of child care has not been thoroughly researched. Who exactly provides faith-based child care? What does it mean to be faith-based? And how many faith-based child care providers are there? Join us for a CPJ-hosted webinar that delves into the role of faith in child care settings. This event will present findings from our recent study in Georgia and Massachusetts, conducted in partnership with Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion. Webinar Details: Title: Faith in Child Care Settings: Findings from Georgia and Massachusetts Date: Thursday, June 20 Time: 2:00 - 3:00 pm ET Our speaker, Rachel Hope Anderson, J.D., brings a wealth of experience as a coalition-builder, facilitator, and policy advisor.
