CapMetro recently hosted Transit Industry Day, led by our Coordinator of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Vanessa Meza, MPH. The event brought together industry experts to discuss creating an equitable ecosystem that aims to support diverse entrepreneurs in Central Texas. The day included presentations and discussions on how procurement processes can be designed to help small businesses, potentially fostering economic growth and diversity in our community. We're working towards ensuring that our transit infrastructure can benefit many members of our society. CapMetro Board Chair Jeff Travillion spoke about the potential broader impact of our work, noting "Transit infrastructure is a key driver of economic growth. Investing in public transportation is an investment in our shared prosperity." This aligns with our goal of developing equitable transit solutions that can contribute to building an inclusive community. We'd like to thank Vanessa Meza for her work in organizing this event, and all the attendees who contributed to the discussions and shared their insights. We'd also like to hear from our visitors!
