With the addition of Ford there are now 7 Fortune 100 companies who entitle LPGA events. I am not going to do the usual “AND xxx that sponsor a PGA TOUR event”. Companies sponsor events for a return. Not just because. By the way the “returns” for sponsoring a #LPGA event are plentiful. For example; cultivating better relationships, company pride, highlighting important company ambitions, community engagement to name a few. What’s missing? Brand exposure. Why? The LPGA has inconsistent and minimal distribution. I.E. television/streaming. This is where I introduce the “circle of life” as it relates to LPGA events. The fan base has to be exposed to the LPGA product in order to know and appreciate the LPGA professional’s talents and accomplishments and get excited to follow the stars (think Caitlin Clark) thus, the LPGA needs wider distribution to grow the fan base (you can’t get to know them if you aren’t exposed to them). The exposure comes primarily thru TV which is paid for by title sponsors who commit to the LPGA based on getting a return. A real conundrum! The good news is the LPGA is a great product and more and more companies like Ford are realizing it and investing!!
🗓️ Save the Date! A new #LPGA Tournament is on the horizon! 🏌️♀️ As companies like Ford Motor Company step up to invest in women's golf, we're witnessing more than just a game-changing moment. In recent years, an increasing number of brands are aligning with the values of inclusivity and diversity that women's golf represents. This investment isn't just about the present; it's about the growth of the game for future generations of talent to shine. The 2023 Sporting Equals Race Representation Index (RRI) has been published and we’re pleased to share the progress that England Netball is making. The survey is a crucial baseline barometer, evaluating publicly funded NGBs of sport on their advancements in the race equality agenda, specifically focusing on ethnic diversity and representation. Out of the 58 NGBs that responded, only 12%, including England Netball, scored A or B. England Netball has moved from a C to a B grade overall – with A grades recorded for Board, coaches and athletes – and are sixth out of 58 sports in the final index. You can click below to see the full report, with a breakdown of our scores and comparisons to other sports. While there is still more work to be done, this index provides a good foundation to build on moving forwards. England Netball is committed to ensuring netball is an inclusive sport and improving diversity at all levels. Driven by insight, we’re working collectively across the organisation to develop and deliver our Dedicated 2 Difference Action Plan which will help us drive an anti-racist culture through an equitable approach. Recently, our Regional ED&I Leads joined one of our regular Regional Chairs meetings for the first time (photo from the day below). It was fantastic to have everyone together in one room to spend the day discussing our ambitions as well as sharing best practice, and establishing how we can collectively develop knowledge, build confidence and be fearless leaders to make the change in sport. Max Verstappen, a 3-time Formula One World Champion, has raised doubts about Susie Wolff's F1 Academy and the effectiveness of its efforts to include more women in the program. His input is important, as he is a prominent figure in the sport with much influence and experience. He is appreciative that the Academy is paying more attention to women, but he worries that there is no next step for them to get them into Formula 1. He fears the car may be significantly too slow for them to fully be prepared for Formula 1. Discourse on female inclusion from powerful drivers such as these can help spark more change in the industry, propelling everyone forward. Read the article about these comments below. https://lnkd.in/geTNuvxE

What a joy to watch these three incredible athletes elevate each other through competition! Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Rebeca Andrade reminded us that true sportsmanship isn't about tearing others down, but about pushing each other to be our very best. Their performances were inspiring, and their mutual respect even more so. #Gymnastics #Competition #Sportsmanship"
Imagine a world where women ALWAYS celebrated each other this boldly, unapologetically, and selflessly. Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles bowed down to Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade on the podium as she claimed first place in the gymnastics floor final today. Apparently Simone said that Jordan asked her, "Should we bow to her?" And Simone replied, "Absolutely." “It was just the right thing to do.” Can you imagine? Can you imagine if women didn’t feel threatened by each other’s successes? Can you imagine if women supported other women, simply because “it was just the right thing to do?” This. Is. Everything. The Olympics teach us about more than just sports. They teach us how to be better humans, through sportsmanship. That is, of course, if we allow them. #Olympics, #WomeninSports ———————————————————- 👋🏼 Hi, I’m Kathy! I’m a fractional CMO, helping multi-location businesses build scalable marketing solutions. As a recruiter, I am truly inspired by this for the next generation. Women need guidance in how to advocate properly for one another. This represents the first step and that is to put aside competition. I recently was assisting a personal acquaintance of mine with gathering appropriate references for a new job she really wanted. It is a highly competitive role in a competitive industry. She is a strong candidate with an excellent work history of accomplishments. She had received 4 reference letters for this job: 2 from women and the other 2 from young men - peers or one level up to her in her previous role. Three of these references (both of the men and one woman) were from the same role she had held in the past which was a leadership role - mid level. The letters from the men focused on her supervisory/mentoring abilities; successes with clients to include handling escalations and complex problem solving and noted her ability to bring in new clients before it was even part of her role. The first female (from the same firm) focused on her "customer service," "attention to detail" and "reliability." Same role, same firm. To my point...the second female to write a recommendation had not worked with this candidate but they have collaborated on several industry related projects - they network. The reference is a CEO, high achiever. Her recommendation for the candidate focused on the successes of their collaborations together, her "innovative ideas" and "fresh perspectives" were noted, as well as her business development approach to build more business while providing stellar service. As females at any level, we should be able to rely on each other to speak up about our own skills and not tone them down...and do the same for each other.
