HR Manager with Federal Diploma of Higher Education | CAS in HRM & Strategy | #IAmRemarkable Facilitator | DEI&B Champion | Vocational Trainer | Recruiting Specialist ✨
During our yesterday’s town-hall I’ve been recognised as #DEI&B Champion alongside Pooja Cornelius and Priyanka Rokde, what a great surprise!!😊 I feel very honoured and appreciated, thank you Persistent Systems you’ve made my day!!💕A special thank you goes also to my awesome Manager Sanofar Fathima for trusting and believing in me!! I couldn’t have done it without your trust and support😊❤️ What does DEI&B (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) mean to me? ✨Kindness and Respect: create a respectful and welcoming work environment for EVERYONE without biases. We are here to achieve great work, where there is no space to exclude someone because of personal judgements. ✨Acceptance: To include everyone, there must be acceptance, psychological safety and value of people’s differences. Furthermore, inclusion provides fertile ground for diversity, leading to dialogue, innovation, company development, and improvement. ✨Development: Thrive professional development to all team members. This promotes equity across the organisation. When everyone, regardless of department, seniority, tenure, or background receives the opportunity to develop, it enables everyone to thrive. These are just a few and a small glimpse of it, there are of course lots more, but to name it all would go beyond the scope of my post😊 #DEI&B #DiversityEquityInclusionAndBelonging #HR #WorkLifeBalance #TeamWork #PersistentSystems #TechCompany #IT #SeeBeyondRiseAbove

In less than two weeks, Catalyst Award site visit season begins. This is the time I look forward to all year. For those who may not know what that means - the Catalyst Award recognizes #DEI initiatives, often huge bodies of work that span regions, functions, programs, processes, and years. As part of our evaluation of these DEI initiatives, a Catalyst team gathers together in one or more locations to interview typically between 75 and 100 employees at the nominating company to understand how their nominated initiative is being experienced by employees on the ground. We then take all of the rich information we learn from these employees and assess whether the initiative is deserving of the Catalyst Award. After the process is over, we are able to provide nominating companies with a fulsome picture of the strengths of their work as well as areas of opportunity. I share all this not only to say how rewarding nominating is for the companies themselves in the information they receive, but also to say how rewarding it is for me. If I could do site visit all year, I would. Learn about some body of work being done, write interview protocols, travel to where the employees are and conduct those interviews, and then analyze the results to produce a report of what's working, what could be improved, and how to improve it. There is nothing quite like hearing employee stories of how company actions have improved their lives. And then to get to take that information (anonymously!) and use it to help companies be better, and make their employees' lives even better? It's a blessing. In the end, I just want to leave the world at least a little better than I found it. And hearing about the ways in which companies like recent winners Zoetis, SEPHORA, The Hartford, UPMC, Boston Scientific, Enbridge, and Parexel are doing that has been a gift.

Happy Friday! June is a great month for reflection, especially here at THCG as it also marks the end of our financial year AND our birthday (on the 26th June, if anyone wants to send cake... #justsaying!) As we pull together our achievements, big learns and results, we always focus on our most memorable moments. This below was certainly one of them! Business Culture Awards & Business Culture Connected - they absolutely blew us away with their awards entry process and ceremony. And for us, in our first year of entering, to receive two incredible awards - L&D programme of the year and Business Culture Consultancy of the year... it was a moment in our story we will never forget! We're currently reviewing our programmes to see if any are ripe and ready for an entry this year (we take the process very seriously and only enter when we know our solutions have had the time to make their impact and ROI clear!) - but wanted to highly recommend that you check them out. https://lnkd.in/dNrTJU5 They are exceptional thought leaders doing great work in the vital space of business culture. They role model the values they promote and are passionate about making a positive difference in the world of work. We can't wait to work with them more in the future. For now, join us in a moment of positive reflection by watching this video, the moment all our hard work transforming to become a business consultancy paid off! What achievements are you reflecting on and celebrating? #happinessatwork #happinessleadstosuccess #proudmoment #measuresofourhappiness #awardwinning #awardwinningconsultancy #makingadifference #celebrate

Marketing Ops Manager w/ expertise in Digital Marketing, Strategy, Campaigns, & Process Automation. Excels in Project Management, Operational Efficiency, & Analytics. Passionate about AI, Personal Dev, & Research.
I got nominated for the ✨ Employee of the Quarter✨ award yesterday! And while I wasn’t one of the winners, I can’t help but feel giddy and grateful about it. It reminds me of the first few times I got recognized for my performance throughout my career history. Since I was in an Internal Comms/ EE engagement capacity then, I was the one who drafted the email and sent out the comms announcing myself as the awardee. I even designed, printed, and framed my own certificate days before the awarding ceremony... which I organized as well! :D The most awkward situation was when I hosted a quorum alongside another team lead in a rented cinema and announced myself as a nominee for the quarter. I wanted to disappear behind the curtains. My workmates would sometimes joke about how I probably manipulated the polls to add my name. That said, it always feels good to be remembered, to be seen. I don’t know who nominated me and for what exactly but I thought I'd share that this nomination feels like a breath of fresh air after a 'wipeout'. It's a vote of confidence, a reminder that amidst the flurry of tasks on my work board, I must be doing something right. That said - managers and colleagues do not have to wait for a special occasion to acknowledge their teammate’s efforts. In One Minute Manager, Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson highlight the importance of catching people doing the right things - giving “One Minute Praisings”. The acknowledgment has to be structured, genuine, specific, and immediate - that way, positive behavior is reinforced, leading to highly motivated employees who have the confidence to keep going. I lack in this department since I focus on the goals determination and corrective action part, but I suppose this is a good reminder to do better and pay it forward. #grateful #employeeappreciation #employeerecognition 🎊

Do EAs really need appreciation? The answer is a resounding 'Yes'. EAs are more than intermediaries applying their heart and soul in the organization through their dedication which often is unrecognized. Yet, they maintain calm and self-motivation despite stress. Recognizing their efforts is crucial for their motivation, improving their performance and career satisfaction. During the recent IAA week, we requested feedback from managers of nominated Executive Assistants (EAs). The responses were overwhelmingly positive, revealing that while many EAs feel unappreciated, their managers highly value their contributions. This feedback underscores the strong work ethic and motivational boost for the EAs. This is manager's appreciation for Prathiba Atchutanna from her Executive Mr. Stephane Englebert (We would like to extend our gratitude for taking time out of your busy schedules to acknowledge her). This truly demonstrates the organization's commitment to employee growth and empowerment, fostering a supportive and appreciative work environment. Have you ever considered nominating your people for awards? They can be a great vehicle for raising personal profile and boosting morale, but various things may result in your efforts backfiring, so do proceed with caution: 🅰️🅱️ Company culture: By nominating a few select people, you’re sending a message to everyone else (especially those in the same role) that they are secondary. Do you really want to risk creating an A team / B team mentality? ⌛️ Long lead times: There’s usually a big gap between the nomination deadline and the winner announcement. What if your nominee leaves in that time? Lots of time and money wasted on someone that’s no longer there… 🏹 Headhunters: If your nominee wins, be prepared for the headhunters to descend on them – and the risk that they may be poached by a competitor. 👩🏽⚖️ Unconscious judging bias: Some people awards/lists are selected only by the editorial team of a publication, not independent judges. This may minimise your nominee’s chances because they may have an unconscious bias towards people/companies that they already know through editorial coverage/advertising/sponsorship relationships. Are you already thinking about these things when planning your awards strategy/selecting the right ones to help you meet your objectives? #PeopleAwards #AwardsStrategy #AwardsConsultancy #AwardsAdvice #AwardsEntries
