Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles’ Post

It was great to be a part of the launch of PAVE United Kingdom yesterday, as a founding funder and member we are really looking forward to growing this capability in the UK, and seeing a wide membership from across the UK CAM space. If you are interested in shaping how we communicate with the future CAM users (both public and businesses) please do get in touch! Thanks to Dylan Parrin (CCAV) for all their hard work in supporting the set up and launch.

🚨 ✨ 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 PAVE United Kingdom At WMG, University of Warwick, we are super honoured to announce the launch and the opportunity to lead the Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) United Kingdom (PAVE UK). Launched yesterday at the Royal Automobile Club, London, it was our honour to have Anthony Browne MP, UK's Technology and Decarbonisation Minister, and Professor Sarah Sharples, Chief Scientific Adviser, Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, as our keynote speakers. For me, it was very heartening to see the majority of the UK's Connected & Automated Mobility (CAM) ecosystem being in the room to support PAVE UK. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞: bit.ly/3T82vC8 Incredibly grateful to all our speakers and panellists: Tara Andringa, Chris Lane, Natasha Merat, Daniel Quirke, Meera Naran MBE, David Wong, Elizabeth Box, Karl Obermair, for yesterday's very insightful discussions on the importance of including the public in the self-driving technology journey! And most importantly, very pleased that the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, Department for Business and Trade, and Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles for taking a public-focused approach to bringing CAM to reality on UK roads. Championed by Rebecca Posner, David Webb, and the entire CCAV team, thank you so much. Working together with the global PAVE Family: PAVE Europe, Guido Di Pasquale, Lukas Neckermann, PAVE US and PAVE Canada, we aim to leverage best practices while also delivering on the UK's specific needs for public awareness and education on CAM.
