Mirror image of mentorship & early professional socialization for the culture, a glimpse of evidence-based excellence In this photo: RNs of color attended Diversity CRNA Information Sessions & Airway Simulation Lab Workshops hosted at Rutgers University/Camden 2009, Columbia University 2018, Emory University 2018 & Samuel Merritt University 2019. A total of 61 Diversity CRNA events that transitioned 820 of these nurses into CRNAs today. This does not take into account the 140 nurse anesthesia students of color currently enrolled into graduate programs. See what happens when you have purposeful intent in your heart? #growth Fun fact: Out of a 60K CRNA Workforce, only 4% are Black CRNAs, 4% Hispanic CRNAs, 3% Asian CRNAs & 0.7% Indigenous CRNAs In 2024, we have 5 Diversity CRNA Info & Airway events with early professional socialization to increase representation. This fun fact moves us to do so. Grateful for being an agent of change. #diversitycrna #immersionmodel

Leadership transitions can significantly impact organizations. Poor transitions can derail strategy, harm team performance, and negatively affect company culture, potentially costing millions. Effective planning, transparent communication, and proper onboarding are crucial for a smooth transition. For example, Scott LaRue announced Dr. Taimur Mirza's appointment as Chief Medical Officer at ArchCare, highlighting the importance of leadership continuity and the positive impact on the organization. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) plays a crucial role in healthcare organizations by blending clinical expertise with visionary leadership. The CMO ensures healthcare systems are responsive, equitable, and efficient, significantly impacting strategy, team performance, and company culture. Effective leadership transitions, like the appointment of Dr. Taimur Mirza at ArchCare, highlight the importance of continuity and positive organizational impact. #unitedseniorassociation #USA #eldercare #FDA #seniorliving #ADA #AI #NIH #patientcare #compliance #hospitals #OIG #healthcare #HHSOIG #digitalhealth #HSS #CMS #assistedliving #nursinghomes #seniorcare #medicare #seniorcitizen #homehealthcare #caregiver #dementia #inhomecare #seniorhealth #kloekorby #alzheimers #mentalhealth #IoT #IoMT #NIA #AMA
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Taimur Mirza as our new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Mirza succeeds Dr. Walid Michelen, whose leadership has been instrumental in guiding our nursing homes through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We thank Dr. Michelen for his commitment and service to our mission. As Dr. Mirza transitions from his role at Mary Manning Walsh to the CMO position, we are excited about the positive impact he will continue to bring to ArchCare and the communities we serve. Join me in celebrating this new chapter for ArchCare. #TogetherWeCan

THIS WEEK is our 2nd Anniversary.. and we're #movingforward to deepen our work to empower residents, staff and communities. We will continue to be: 🌟 Focusing on the people in nursing homes. We have four projects underway being pilot tested in order for best practices to be promote nationally. These projects specifically empower residents to have control over their personal and community life, and #CNAs to grow in their career and nursing home roles. 👉 We'll be releasing a microsite later this week with "how to" guides. 🌟 Strengthening our voice for consensus of solutions. We're continuing to bring together diverse voices to identify solutions (big and small) we can all agree on. 👉 This week we'll have three consensus-backed federal policy recommendations to move forward with necessary shifts. 🌟 Seeking partners as we can't do it alone. 👉 We need help funding and scaling other promising projects to: incentivize household models, ensure surveyors have training in person-centered care, and make person-centered care planning a part of nursing home electronic health records. Can you introduce us? WANT TO LEARN MORE? 👉 We've got a great group assembled THIS Wednesday, June 26 (4-5pm ET) to learn more of what's ahead. Industry Nurse Leader & Educator | Consultant: Enhancing Patient Safety | Ensuring Financial Stability | Author & Speaker | Healthcare Transformation
"Nursing Education: Bridging the Gap for Safer Patient Care" Let's dive into the world of nursing education. In a recent eye-opening interview, (https://lnkd.in/gDyD5gKi) we discussed the gaps between classroom knowledge and real-world application. New nurses often find themselves grappling with unforeseen challenges as they step into the dynamic realm of patient care. Recent studies during a rigorous assessment of over 10K new registered nurses reveal that only 9% can recognize patient deterioration before it’s too late. There is an increasingly widening chasm between nursing education and the requisite clinical reasoning and critical thinking essential to keep patients safe. 57% of novice nurses were challenged in their ability to manage patient problems, select the proper nursing intervention, and communicate relevant data to the healthcare provider. In the nursing literature, this has been identified as the “Theory to Practice Gap” and the need to “bridge this gap. We must collaborate to create meaningful interventions to make this crucial change in healthcare. What are your thoughts and experiences? Have you or someone you know experienced the transition from theory to practice in nursing? Share your stories and insights below. Let's explore how we can enhance nursing education to ensure safer and more effective patient care. 📚💉 🚀
