A morning marked by innovative #discoveries and the sharing of scientific #knowledge! The 1st Symposium on "Bioproduction of Natural Fragrances and Flavours", held today at the Escola de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho, brought together leading #experts in the #bioproduction of natural #compounds to explore the latest developments in this field. The event, organised by #CEB, highlighted the key results of the #ESSEntial Project, which aims to develop an integrated #bioprocess for producing #lactones, valuable compounds used as #fragrances and #flavours, from simple sugars. The round table, under the theme "Biobased Scents: Aligning Academic and Industry Expectations for Progress", provided an enriching opportunity to debate the connection between the #academic world and #industry.
